Guitar chaos, Mick Ronson turned Bowie's songs into rock anthems.
@SodomaMuikku11 жыл бұрын
How did he come up with that solo? Moonage Daydream's album version had a beautifully bended solo in its end and here it's even on a higher level. Ronson truly was an ingelligent guitarist. He knew he couldn't play things like Blackmore but he also knew the most important thing in music; you should play the right things at the right time. Those bendings and vibratos and how he uses delay is just thrilling. And the sound he dug out of his gear is freakin' sweet and rough at the same time.

@deadreckoning292 Жыл бұрын
I like Mick’s playing. But the reality is, he was an average guitarist at best. And if you take away that over the top DELAY in this solo, it wouldn’t be all that memorable.
@SodomaMuikku Жыл бұрын
As a guitarist, Mick was technically on average level, but musically much higher level. His sound and playing style compensated for the missing playing virtuosity, but nothing compensated for his shyness and modesty. I don't know if it was a lack of self-confidence, but I was left with an image of a man who could have been much more. And if you want to listen to more technical and stylistically similar guitar playing, you can always listen to Randy Rhoads' playing. There are many similarities in the playing of these masters.
@mikereed8181 Жыл бұрын
What planet are you on, Ronson is the greatest guitarist ever lived, no one comes close to him, Ronson could play is guitar in any era he was classical trained he brought his own sound the guy was a genius because he only brought 50% because that's all he needed he played to serve the song he was playing, when Ronno wanted to turn it on everyone listened

@luisamendes81814 ай бұрын
Your words are mine and yours are his. I’m 62 too. And yeah, Mick is very, very underrated. Believe or not I myself knew him last year. For knowing I mean to understand. Of course I knew his name. Then the KZbin algorithm has showed that and… I’m not the same person anymore. Thanks to internet. Without that I could not even buy a ticket in the past, and take a plane to watch a show. It’s not totally tragic, since I was too young and ignorant enough an probably I would not notice Mick as he deserves. But not many Brazilian Bowie s fans (we are many) realised what is “Mick Ronson”. Right after this video I understood why the Bowie s álbuns which provide an indescribable emotion to me are the ones with Mick. I used to listen those more often than the others. No idea that some Mick guy was involved. In the end, I like things happened that way. I fell I can’t trust my guts. I think It’s not necessary but… I’m not only talking about the amazing guitar play, but the musician. He knows how to choose and balance effects in the studio, what it is too much, what is lacking. You name it. Ziggy sonority is Mick. And that sonority is Ziggy persona. And he is a sweetness. In the end of the day I keep digging my favorite albums, but I cry 😢

There's something about this song that touches something inside of my inner being that I can't, well, it'd be a real challenge I should say, for me to put into words. It's a mix of being a 'grower-upper of the '70's', feelings of being lost in a dream while aware of reality, a touch of tingling in the groin & sorrow. That doesn't even come close, but it's an attempt. I only hope that I can one day evoke similar feelings in people when they listen to my music. Johnny Schutte
