Brilliant, I love Ronno, even after all these years he is sorely missed. What a talent and totally under valued, there is no doubt in my mind that Bowie would not had got as big as he did 72/73, his meteoric rise to the public consciousness without Mick. Mick is only just starting to get the recognition for his part in Bowie's early success. He was truly a masterful musician, but it was a shame he did not have the confidence to be a front man. This footage is amazing, I wounder if the full show is out there, would be fantastic if it was, and eventually saw the light of day. Thank you for posting it.

When I was 16 I really wanted to be Mick Ronson, even going to the extent of buying a blonde Les Paul copy. He was an outstanding player. RIP.

The top finish was originally black he sanded off the black finish (in case you did not know that) My first LP was also a blonde/ natural finish also.. AWESOME musician and from all reports a very humble nice guy After all his trade was as a gardener 😂

This is a very nice version. Better than the album in my opinion. The intro is dubious but after that. Man. Excellent piano. Trevor's bass has time and swing. The orchestra arrangement is glorious. Micks guitar is right on point and the way the brass works in with the guitar lines is first class. I want more. Cheers

I once saw a record review (can't remember who by) that said 'some songs are too classy to be top 20 material'. Ronson was such a force that he was too classy to be the 2nd league rock star that the management wanted him to be. True to himself to the end.

Where did you find this video footage?Reports were tapes were erased by Ronsons manager.Thank you Marc
@marccoker Жыл бұрын
I found the rushes for Micks Rainbow concert during an inventory of old footage for Mainman. Unfortunately the management gave the original live multitrack tapes away and they were lost. I’ve re synced this clip using the 1/4” tapes used for the analog edit which would have been done on a 16mm Steenbeck workstation. It’s part of the concert footage in need of some TLC and digital restoration. Buried treasure from 50 years ago.
