Was part of the escort to the colour for the 2017 troop of the colour. Made me feel so proud hearing the Mick’s march when we went round in quick time. I remember this parade was incredibly hot. By the end of it standing on buck palace forecourt for the changing of the guard my hands were sweating so much I felt like the rifle was gonna slip out of my hands when were standing easy.

Every time I watch this which I do frequently, it seems the troops including the pipers appear to have a bounce in their steps. The music is splendid.

This is taking place at Horse Guard where there are several thousand visitors who are being informed of what is happening. Many don't have a clue. The commentary informs them.

Hello have you edited the 2 videos together yet . After watching the 2022 trooping I always find myself watching the 2009 march past. I find the 2009 march past really upbeat it seams as though the soldiers have more of a bounce in there step and the music in sync! Just wandering thank-you.
@Selamatania8 ай бұрын
@@albertanderson6770hey sorry for the very late response, I have edited them together a while ago and you can watch it by clicking on the uploads on my channle. There's another good news as the whole trooping the colour 2009 with commentary has already been uploaded in its entirety on youtube a week ago and you can just search it on youtube by yourself. My edits is actually only two clips snatched together and readded the Mick's march, march, back and kind of synch it with the footage, as you know not every recording is perfectly in synch on tv coverage such as this one but mine also not that perfect but you can watch it as like I mentioned above. Best regards.

"the star of the county down" in the march adaption is the best choice for the irish guards .. it reflects the irish mentality ..outgoing, poetic, optimistic inspite of all obstacles ... and the narching tune is even better when the pipers are more prominent .. in the irish pub the fiddle is paramount though ... And I rather would love to see them trooping the republican colours🇨🇮

Shouldn't they just rename the "Irish Guards" to the "Ulster Scots Guards" and stop appropriating Irish songs.
@danielb111112 жыл бұрын
The Guards have soldiers of southern Irish heritage also…decedents of Irish in Britain. The Regiment predates the Irish Republic and the Northern Irish state.
@rapier19549 ай бұрын
@@danielb11111 The majority are from the north by far and do not identify as Irish. Just because you have a few token Irish from the South still doesn\t take away from the fact it is a regiment dominated by people who are Planters.
@rapier19549 ай бұрын
@@timneely4521 The majority are Ulster Scots. If you are part of it you must buy into the propaganda which you have done. The rest of us have a different point of view to which we are entitled just like you. If you want to serve as cannon fodder for the British Army have at it.
@danielb111119 ай бұрын
Its true there are very few Irish (southern) in the IG. However Irish decent (southern) would be significantly represented. Not all the Irish British inter relation can be filtered through the NI troubles as difficult that may be to accept. The current Taiseach uncles served in the British Army during WW2...along with 50000 of their countrymen (southern Irish).
