Mick is the most underated guitarist of all time. Other guitarists have rated higher for a couple of songs. He certainly a virtuoso. Mick your the best!!!! 3:28

Fabulous slide from Mick,

Taylor not only does tasteful and interesting solos and fillers, but also has the good taste and understanding *not* to do fillers on occasion, such as when Etta is bringing it down low. He's always right in the mood and part of the whole.

Annoying that he lacked the drive to have made a career worthy of his talents!!
@jonjrgensen2390 Жыл бұрын
What did he achieve after he left The Stones? He will never be even close to greater than arguably the greatest rock&roll band of all times who made great records before and after MT though he certainly contributed to some of their best work.

Taylor stayed great but with the Stones he was genius

Great show, I am a huge Mick Taylor fan and as for Mayall, they are the best two blues player's in my book. Maybe, they were a little off that night, but when your on stage you have great night's and shitty ones.

Mick Taylor and John Mayall are great, but there are So many other great blues players out there too. Duane Allman, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Albert King, Freddie King, BB King, Robert Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robben Ford.

That's John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers with Mick Taylor and what looks possibly like John McVie on bass. Etta still in her prime. This was close to the band that Mayall had in 67-68. Imagine if they had hooked up with Etta back then.

Nice to see and hear this now old fellows. Not only Mick but John Mayall John McVie and the others. What I do not get is that on recent video's the real groove shown here has left their bodies a bit? Is it only me hearing that? To be honest, I don't mind: They gave us so much!

@lapaz6212 жыл бұрын
Clearly you havent seen the Albert King clip from this concert, Etta James doesnt exactly do it for me either, bootlegs from this time show Taylor in fine form but any fans of Richards or Woods with never be swayed that Taylor is a far superior guitar player.
@larrynolletti45944 жыл бұрын
Yes..he is more proficient than Keef and Woody....but he couldn't write songs....or have the incredible stage presence and showmanship....Woody and Keef blow him away on both...and Woody fit the Stones like a glove...that being said....Woody and Keef can't shred like Taylor...and Taylor is a million times better solo and guesting like this anyway....
@roseblake58034 жыл бұрын
Larry Nolletti : See that’s the problem for me. You don’t need showmanship when you have Jagger. Taylor puts all his passion in his playing and that’s what a lead guitarist does.
@larrynolletti45944 жыл бұрын
@@roseblake5803 yes...your right....the formula for a million other bands.....the Stones are not a band that needs a virtuoso....they are about groove....great songs....chemistry....comaraderie....cohesion.....interlplay between the guitars.....that being said....I'm a huge Mick Taylor fan....I have everything he released post Stones ( 2 studio albums and several great live albums ) and saw him in small clubs many times....I consider him one of the all time great blues players. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZqrgn6FnMhnpNk
@MarcusPearl4 жыл бұрын
Do not ignore what Keith Richards did. He was a great guitar player, and helped carry the Stones, but Mick was the better lead guitarist
@ArmandoMPR2 жыл бұрын
People forget that Beggars Banquet and Let It Bleed are basically records with only Keith doing the guitars. He was alone in a two-guitar band. Taylor played a little bit on Live With Me and Jones did the acoustic slide on No Expectations, but that’s it. Taylor may be a better technical player and a virtuoso, but Richards is a virtuoso as a composer of music. And I say this as a huge Mick Taylor fan. That’s a hard pill to swallow for many fans of Taylor that like to bash Keith and co.
@shatnershairpiece4 жыл бұрын
Mick’s problem has always been his insistence to sing lead. He can’t sing. If he had stuck with a decent singer like Etta, he might have actually got somewhere as a solo ex stone. I saw Taylor many times in the 80’s and 90’s and his shows were always marred by poor vocals and lack of a decent frontman or woman.
@Unclemoparman Жыл бұрын
😂😂😂😂😂 Jagger can't sing worth a toss ffs
@MontyCantsin511 жыл бұрын
The songs played with Albert King are so much better than this!
@BeforeDarkPodcasts12 жыл бұрын
Other than Etta's vocals, I find this to be akin to antiseptic garbage. And garbage should be, at the very least, filthy. Ugh. NO FEEL.
