I miss the network broadcasts of SWOG (Shell's Wonderful World of Golf), and the annual Skins Game (1983-2008), that were usually televised on Thanksgiving weekends.

That exchange Freddy had with the kid on 18 was pretty sweet...I used to have that on my DVR (among a TON of other great things) until it crashed and got wiped. Grrrr.

The caddy competition is really fun to watch, adds a another dimension to the whole competition because it shows clearly the difference between pro's who have God-like talent and the average player. Excellent idea whoever thought of it.

They cut out the best part! Freddie has enough of Phil out driving him and calls a rules official to check the legality of his ball. His last needle is priceless "I gotta get some of those balls..."

“Freddy what do you think makes you play so well in these events?” “Well, thanks Judy. Ya know, Its probably because it’s a no strings attached event that’s a guaranteed 50 G’s for just showing up to play 18 holes of golf with one of my close friends... Jesus Christ, ya know Judy, come to think of it, my life really does kick some serious ass, don’t it? Like how did I get this lucky? Is this even legal? I could be working a regular-ass job type job. Instead I’m here with you, and Phil, playing golf on a great golf course all to ourselves for shittons of extra cash I don’t really need, and when we’re done here I’ve got some smokeshow hottie waiting in my Learjet fueled and waiting take us back to my estate in Newport Beach which happens to be adjacent to Big Canyon CC, my home course, and top 5 most exclusive CC’s in the world” That’s what imagine Freddy is really thinking sometimes. Or maybe that just what I’d be thinking if I were him 😂. Seriously though, if you were a professional golfer with status enough to be invited to Shells Wonderful World of Golf- what a damn life you had. And no hate intended, just jealously 😂 😢 /rant

Fred was a bit of an ass not letting Phil putt out on 18. Glad to see him lose this one. He does have a smooth swing though, have to give him credit for that.
@adamd89975 жыл бұрын
Phil was going to win. If you listen, Freddie wanted him to have the last putt so he was the last to hole out for the win. Why stand around waiting for Freddie to finish if Phil already holed out.
@exitparadise22445 жыл бұрын
Try Thinking For a change not his fault. He felt bad for the first hole making him putt that one out
@pb126613 жыл бұрын
He wasn't being an ass. He just wanted Phil to have the last tap in putt to end the match....This is considered proper golf "etiquette." If you hear him say, "we are playing just like a tournament." That's how they're required to play under normal circumstances.

He played "bad" but still shot -1. Mickelson was dangerous when he drove the ball straight. He was piping those drives. Hard to beat that.....
