Near You was written by Francis Craig, and was number 1 on the Hit Parade in 1947. Mr. Craig had a unusual piano style, He was an archestra leader in Nashville, TN.

Impressive. I've been trying to get my foot in the door in Nashville for about 5 years and I always get the door slammed in my face. Record labels don't want to sign traditional Country Musicians anymore. They want Pop Country sellouts and I refuse to compromise my talent.
