I think Terry threatened to kill Ian if Mickey goes near him. He really doesn't want to hit Ian, you can see Mickey wiping away his tears after he punches him in the face. I think Ian is going on a bender in the next episode, that's what he usually does after something bad happens. Hope Mickey notices and does something about it.

I think Mickey did this on purpose so that Ian would never talk to him again. Therefore if Iran isn't around, Terry can't hurt him. So, Mickey hurt Ian so he could kept him safe.
