I couldn't help but laugh at this frustration... I remember having the same frustrations during my time working at Family Video. A big name movie would come out and then the cheap knockoffs started pouring out. One I can remember off the top of my head was Ape vs Monster, which was a low budget ripoff of Godzilla vs Kong. And the cover art for Ape vs Monster was the same copy and paste style that you saw for dozens of other cheap ripoffs... Like Atlantic Rim. Anyway, I'm looking forward to horror becoming original again. And being an aspiring writer/filmmaker, I hope to one day put one of my creations out there and have you guys take a look at it - not necessarily for the exposure but because it's hopefully something good and inspires more original work

So Amityville is not a copyrighted work. Real life murders are not subject to copyright laws so long as they do not use the real names of the victims or perpetrators. At that point it becomes a legal issue over life rights or depictions of a real individual. Anything inspired by it can be made freely. That’s why you see so many of them. A created work has 95-years to exist before it is legally declared public domain and only applies to the original creation not subsequent creations or depictions until the 95-years has applied to those as well.

I don’t necessarily have a problem with using beloved fairy tale and/or animated characters to make horror films out of(remember,the Brothers Grimm fairy tales were a lot more twisted and creepy than their Disney counterparts,something many people seem to forget),but the problem,to me,is that no one seems to be doing anything very creative.All we’re seeing is these characters being turned into generic slashers.

My thing is these ideas could be better with bigger budgets, there always has to be a start, the creators of Blood and Honey clearly are passionate about their movies and want to make them better, as u can see with the Blood And Honey 2 photos that have been released, so I don’t judge the creators and their intentions until i see what they do with a bigger budget, if money can’t make the movies better then clearly the creators are not that good, but until I see what they do with more money I don’t judge too harshly

The only reason it "looks better" is because there's more money behind it but since there's more money behind it that means it's going to make less of a profit. And the difference between what Disney did and what all these idiots are doing is that they still stayed truthful to the nature of the original book. Cuz the first one made money so obviously they want to make another one to see if that one will make money too. It's called business it has nothing to do with passion and it's not going to work cuz like I said with a production budget being higher that means it's likely they're going to lose money when next to nobody goes and sees it or make far less. And at the same time the script is trash, and the acting is trash. Nearly everything about it is poor which is why critically it got a 3% and will probably do just as bad this movie. If there was passion behind it the script would have been good and the acting would have been better but it wasn't it's just a bunch of people that don't care about the property and just want to take the legacy of the character for a quick buck now that it's public domain. Every movie studio out there is trying to create a Cinematic Universe and most of them fail. They don't get points of being passionate about something simply because they're doing what every other Studio out there is doing lol. You don't want to answer my question because you know you can't give an answer for that won't buffer my point lol. I am a horror fan and I've seen movies like The Barn which is low budget but you can tell that they cared about how the creatures that came out of the barn looked and in the second one they had a creepy looking bird if they really wanted to make a horror movie with Steamboat Willie Mickey they could've had him look how he looks in the poster and have his weapon be something that you use on a boat but it is sad that most low budget but not all low budget indie horror writers want to make a quick buck because if they were serious on putting a decent amount of effort into the movie they would've put their money on getting someone that mix the sound better and put money into Mickey's outfit it makes no sense to me on why Mickey would be wearing a jersey.

It's actually bad doing this with Horror Video Games too. Maybe not quite on the same level as Horror Movies, but it still hurts Horror Video Games' reputation, as well as Indie Game Developers that try making unique, interesting Horror Video Games. That have a passion to try and create a fun Video Game - Horror or otherwise. When Outlast, Silent Hill P.T. and the first/original Five Nights at Freddy's were first released, *so* many Game "Developers" were cashing in on those IPs by *literally* Copy-Pasting them. They were the *same* Game... Only shit in every way! There was a reason those Copy-Paste Horror Games and similar ones were/are called KZbin Fodder. Because the "Devs" release a Demo, which big Gaming KZbinrs upload a Video of them playing, which gets these Horror "Games" recognition - the same way these Horror "Movies" do by using beloved Characters. Then, once the Demo's over, the "Devs" list links to a Kickstarter and/or Patreon. So, these "Devs" are making money off these absolute dumpster fire, dog shit Horror "Games" but never releasing them. Or, if they do, it's worse than the assblaster that was the Demo! Whether it's one of these types of Horror "Movies" or a Horror "Game," it's all a manipulating cash-grab! 😡

Dude, I love the channel and I watch almost all the videos you and Jay put out. That being said... I can't agree with your stance. If you are not interested in the movie - fine. Just don't watch it. Some people love these movies and they have ALWAYS loved these cheap movies. I used to work in a video store in the 90s and these cheap direct-to-video horror movies rented more than some blockbuster movies. It almost seems as if you want to do away with the public domain rules. Basically. If you don't think you will like it, don't watch it. Obviously, Winnie the Pooh's Blood and Honey did well because there is a sequel. It is what it is. These movies are not taking away from other horror movies such as "Thanksgiving" or "Talk to Me". At least for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, the crew are actually using make-up which to make the characters look like they are real and improving the looks of Pooh and Piglet, thanks to the higher budget because the first movie costed $100,000 and the movie made $5 million. Also, them including more characters from the universe does make it seem they want to play more in the universe. With this Micky Mouse movie it makes Winnie the Pooh look like Oscar worthy.
