Would have been cool if they got Bob Hoskins to reprise his role as Eddie Valiant to help search for Mickey. Although I doubt he would have wanted to do it so soon. Roger Rabbit was a good character, made me chuckle. I guess Spielberg/Amblin and Disney had too many copyright issues over him. He's barely mentioned now. PS: I love Cheers. 35:32

@andrewvickers19927 жыл бұрын
SuperTed19021 Then would you mind explaining to us how Disney has gotten away with the recent Easter appearances of Roger Rabbit at Disney World?
@SuperTed190217 жыл бұрын
I didn't say he doesn't appear at Disney World at all. But what I am making out that at the time, Disney wanted him to become one their most prominent Disney character along the lines of Mickey and Donald. I mean, in the early 90s, he was nearly as big as Mickey in Disneyland shows etc. And I could have worked if Disney and Spielberg had not clashed heads over what Roger Rabbit shorts appeared at the front of either Disney or Amblin movies. Roger Rabbit isn't all own by Disney. Its 50/50 between Disney and Amblin. When Disney and Spielberg started to argue about Roger Rabbit's use, then he he started to fade. Yes, he hasn't gone completely but it was clear that in the early 90s Disney wanted him to become a big part of the Mickey Mouse gang and for the reason above, it never happened.

So... if "Cheers" is a part of the Tommy Westphall Multiverse Theory, and toons are shown as being real in this special (extending to Warner Bros. and every other studio involved with "Roger Rabbit")....... Thinking about this is hurting my brain, and my childhood...

I think the people who keep track of that thing said they only count prime time animated series, although with all the shows featured in this thing (and simmilar specials they did at the time) I wonder if there are any shows not in the Westphall universe that due to specials like these, the Saturday morning specials, etc. should be counted.

On the one hand, it's very sad to see such cheap, off-model animation of Mickey and pals - and for his birthday no less! On the other hand, it's a riot how nobody believes the TALKING CARTOON MOUSE when he tries to convince them he's Mickey.

I feel like this whole idea would have worked better if they actually changed Mickey into someone else. If they didn't want people to recognize him, turn him human, either into Wayne Alwine or some up-and-coming actor and make this his debut role. It would have saved a bit of money on animation, and they could have put more effort into the animation they kept.

Disney without Mickey would just be the same as Nintendo without Mario! That's JUST how I felt when I got a Nintendo 64 in Christmas of 1997, but no Mario game :(

For some reason, that sorcerer reminds me of Dr. Robotnik, while Mickey reminds me of Sonic The Hedgehog!
