I've had the pleasure of taking a 3 day pistol and rifle course with Mickey and can confidently say he's one of the best in the biz especially for folks starting from the novice and intermediate levels. There's a huge difference between standing still at a climate controlled indoor range working on groups, to actually moving while shooting and engaging multiple targets in sub optimal conditions. The humbling effect comes quickly. Against all odds we had some Dallas snow and that actually made the class even better as we worked through the added difficulties. Love what both of these guys do, so thank you both and know that the effort is recognized and appreciated.

With the "must be nice" crowd the response can be as simple as, yes I am blessed and grateful for the opportunity or yes I worked hard and now I am seeing the benefits of it. Must be nice is another way of saying you want what someone else has but aren't willing to put in the work to get it for yourself, in my opinion.

I stopped using that saying must be nice a very long time . Once I got wiser I realized that person probably worked their ass off to have those things or spend a lot of hours honing their craft and knowledge. I just say congrats man for living the amercian dream . I really say congrats man that's f-ing awesome..

Growing up you have no choice, you learn to pull the good lessons even out of bad people. Growing up during the 80's and 90's in Bushwick Brooklyn prior to the artists collectives moving in, you had to take what you could get. Even crack heads had jewels if you possed the humanity to not treat them as animals who were only customers. Some of my best lessons came from buying the local bum a 40 oz of beer and asking him to shoot some pool with me. As adults, we have options to not associate with bad people, but you are missing out of a prospective only souls who have suffered have.

On firearms training for civilians: Being a present or former special operator doesn't make you a good teacher. Adult civilians who are mature and who think with their brains are different from 18 year old recruits who think with their genitals and their stomachs. Adult civiliams require a different, more respectful teaching approach. When a thinking, adult civilian tells you, "I have already many times tried that particular grip method you are describing, and it just doesn't work for me," that really means it really doesn't work for them. And that means you should stop trying to force them into it. Your way isn't the right way for everyone. Civilians come to learn. They don't come to go through "Selection." Civilian students are customers who are paying you. They aren't recruits who ste getting 3 squares, a rack, medical care, s paycheck, psid leave, and paid retirement. Be respectful. When a civilian student screws up, correct them, but don't ridicule them in front of their classmates. If a civilian student is dangerous, send them home immediately. Don't overcrowd you classes with more than 8 or 10 students. Really
