Another great video and a nice and easy repair. I'll also add that this is currently my favorite repair channel - you don't bother with loads of fancy editing, annoying background music or feel the need to show your face as so many do (there's a guy on another channel who edits his videos to show his grinning face on a fairly regular basis - I have no idea why, to be honest I'm more interested in the repair than what the KZbinr looks like or if he is mugging at the camera!). Anyhow, I digress. You show what's going on with the repair and that's the most important part. You deserve a lot more subs.
@BuyitFixit

Thanks M Jons👍 It's really hard for me to work out what people like or don't like. Personally I've seen a few repair videos with annoying music all the way through and it really puts me off. I've wondered if showing my face or not makes a difference as some more successful channels do, along with more humor or even singing. I'm fairly camera shy and just think why would people want to see my ugly mug lol! At times I wonder are the videos a bit boring? I have no idea. I do try to respond to every comment but I guess if the channel becomes reasonably successful then that won't always be the case. Thanks for you input 👍Best wishes Mick.

Thanks Mercuraz. I know stez seems a lot more successful than my channel so it's hard to gauge what works and what doesn't. I know he's been doing this a bit longer than I have on KZbin so I guess we'll see...

@@BuyitFixit I've been following this other KZbinr for nearly 14 years and he's been having that issue as well, trying to find what people want to see in his videos. If only people were honest instead of leaving us in the dark, it would make a hell of a difference for the content creator and the audience! Sadly, our digital society don't live like that.

@@BuyitFixit I see no need to show your face, the best approach to any channel is to make what YOU would like to watch. Look at My Mechanics - he never shows his face yet he has millions of subscribers. As I mentioned there's one repair channel in particular where the guy shows his face far too often simply to make a joke or smugly grin at the camera, it's really irritating. Oh, and I never find your content boring, I just wish you had more subs.

Well done, another device saved from the skip. The new switch looked to have a metal top section, so it may be worth another look-see whether that part broke off the old switch and is lurking somewhere nasty.

Sorry Vince I only just noticed your reply! KZbin doesn't notify me sometimes. I passed the one that was giving trouble but one remains in the right 5mm, and a small one 1mm in my left kidney. They said there's a 50% chance it will move in the next 10 years! And 90% chance that I'll pass it. So currently no issues 🤞.Glad to hear the finger has come on leaps and bounds👍. If the switch was the problem, a way to circumvent all this (assuming you just want to get it to work without soldering a new part) would be to just clear (reset) a dualshock 4 controller (using paperclip to the round back button) and then using a USB cable to connect the controller directly to the PS4. Pressing home with prompt the PS4 to turn on while it is connected and once it pairs, you no longer need to keep it connected nor need to press the physical power button on the console. This is, again, assuming you just want to get it to turn on and play instead of doing some maintenance and repairs. (Cleaning/soldering)

One more for the Chalk one up on the win side , I never had a PS4 or any number at all , didn't have those when I was younger , I did play Pong at a friends house a few times though..... My oldest son had a X Box or a Play station at one time .....I can't remember , he bought it as a older teenager ..... I noticed you have a TS-80 or 100 Mini Ware portable iron , I've seen some great reviews on those ...... KSGER sent me a new portable iron that just hit the market not long ago to unbox and review ..... It's a C-210 type that boasts 72 watts , 12 volts and 6 amps , and instead of the OLED display it has a TFT display , any way i'll be doing a video on it today or tomorrow .... Take Care Mon Ami....
@BuyitFixit
@BuyitFixit Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Nice of them to send you one. The iron I'm using is the aixun t3a. I did a repair video on it a couple months ago as it developed a problem. A company kindly sent me a thermal camera to review, so I'll be doing a video on that soon.
@cajuncoinhunter
@cajuncoinhunter Жыл бұрын
@@BuyitFixit Yeah I saw that Aixun repair video.... I looked again and at the @6:00 minute mark , I see a tool that looks like the Mini Ware iron , it's next to a black handled screwdriver and there's a dental pick almost on top of it , it could be a mini screw driver that has the same shape as the iron... I'll be looking forward to that thermal video , that is one of the things on my list , A computer guy I know doesn't fix mother boards on the component level so he asked me if I wanted to make some good money doing it for him .... Usually a thermal cam comes in real handy for that ...

Yet another epic repair. Just wondering, when you are relaxing do you wear a cape? And of course your underpants on the outside of your trousers? Also which Soldering Iron do you use, does it warm up quickly when you press the "beep" Another interesting ting in your FF sequence was seeing the IPA evaporate off.
@BuyitFixit
@BuyitFixit Жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris! Ha, relaxing? What's that! My soldering iron is the one I actually repaired a few video's back ( Aixun T3A ) so you can actually get to see the insides too! I love it, it automatically switches on and off when you place it in the stand and that's what the "beep" is, and takes about 2-3 seconds to heat up. Literally take it out of the stand and it's ready to use! I never noticed the IPA evaporating, it was a bit of a rush getting this one out as the part's only arrived on Saturday afternoon, so then it was repair, edit, review, edit, review, thumbnail, publish pretty much!
