Very nice! I enjoy seeing 70s interviews featuring The Monkees. It's great that Micky is still going strong even 50 years after this interview.

Great interview with Micky that I had never seen or heard before! I was lucky enough to have met he, Davy Jones and Peter Tork several years at an autograph signing and also saw them in concert back in 1986 for their 20th Anniversary Tour in Pittsburgh.

The first combination of music and television 🎶🎶😎 I could always count on 2 entire Monkee's songs per episode! Good, clean humor! 4 musically talented, funny, good-looking guys that stick together! The best tv show ever! And great in concert!!💞🎶💞🎶

THIS is what someone in "the biz" sounds like WITHOUT EGO. Clear, coherent, compassionate, empathetic. LOVE! ✌💜👊 Mickey...Thank You for not ever being a douche. Would love to see the wood-work you love and give you a sheckle or two for it.

I was a huge fan of Mickey growing up in the 80s watching "the Monkees" reruns. I loved his voice and the harmonies of the songs. I understand the lack of street cred. But, they had great writers, wrote some of their own, had great session players recording and really have chemistry- vocally imo, and charisma. A good product is a good product.

I danced with Mickey Dolentz, in London, in 1977. I had only been n London a few days and started a new job. Few days after that my office, which was in advertising, went to a small industry gathering, about 30 of us, on a river disco boat. He saw me dancing and asked if he could dance with me. Utter gentleman. he complimented me on my dancing and asked if I ws trained. I was not. lol. Nice man. Very respectful and not thing to hit on me. Just as well, I think by then he was married. I was 21 at the time.

I heard at the time the reason he was there was he either had shares in the firm hosting mine or he was thinking of doing so.

At this time, Mickey was part of a group that hang out at a Hollywood club, I believe the Trubadour that included himself, John Lennon, Alice Cooper, and Harry Neilsen.

He was rehearsing the answers he'd be giving to the same questions he'd be asked over & over & over again for 50+ years. Otherwise decent interview.

You should have fact-checked your description of this video. Peter Tork was the most musically accomplished member of the group, and Last Train To Clarksville came before I'm A Believer.
@slydogmania
@slydogmania Жыл бұрын
While fully aware of that fact re Tork (and Dolenz acknowledged this), my opinion is that talent-wise Nesmith and Dolenz were indisputably creative geniuses and for what it's worth, Davy Jones like Tork were amazing talents and central to the success of the Monkees. You're right though about Last Train released before Believer
