If a master can play a cheap one,, almost at 80-90 % of how could be played on a expensive one, then the answer is simple....The practice, the dedication, talent and learning are the most valuable skills, after that, the tool...

I completely agree - and there are good arguments for buying a high quality instrument. The playing and handling comfort, ease and stability of responsiveness, the durability of the instrument, the sound character given by the building materials. And the higly skilled player may actually be restrained by the instruments performing capabilities. Ordinary listeners may not sense a difference but the player and the trained ear will.

Thanks for the video, exactly what I was lookin for. Not too much talking, just play and compare great, I wonder if there are honers like chromonica, chrometta, cx12 or discovery ( under 180 dollars ) that are significantly better than the thomann.

Beautiful the music you are playing. Waht is the name of it? I find a good idea to expose the harmonicas in a vitrine, just the cases avoid the complete view to the instruments. I posses also the chromatic 40. This harmonica can also adjusted to bend certain notes without the use of the slider because there is no valves in it. Today I am using it to play Midnight Cowboy without overblows in my Solo tuned Diatonica

Jeg har de bedste erfaringer med Suzuki (Sirius og Gregoire Maret) - det er de mest stabile og pålidelige instrumenter, jeg har.

I feel slight difference between the two, in terms of quality of sound. It's kindof disappointing since I had anticipated a significant difference given the gap of the prices. Very well played with both! How would you say about the difference? Thanks for sharing, very interesting, useful and rare.

The recording does not reflect the real difference - the fullness and strength of the sound is not reproduced precisely. In a live setting the difference is clear. The cheap harmonica plays at a lower volume and is thinner - whereas the Seydel harmonica sounds more distinct, clear and strong and fills the room much more.

@@micmarkDK your feeling is of "first hand", I trusted it. I have a SUZUKI SCX64, and frequently feel the middle note 3 is easily condensed, thus sound blocked partially. I would try an equivelant model on either Horner or Seydel, so I would appreciate any of your personal feeling between the two, mainly in the sound quality (and hopefully other aspects as well). For material quality, I assume they are equally Ok. Thank you so much Dan from Canada

And indeed, as others comment... this is not a fair competition: Seydl is of course the winner by far (750 euro is not cheap for a harmonica... 25 euro is!). I own besides some expensive harmonica's also a Swan for 25 euro's; just for in the pocket, on the road when nothing matters qua sound). But you should try the Kongsheng Lyra: a very good instrument for relatively little money!

They both do sound very good but i would pick the Seydel it's always you get what you pay for . Having said that the Thomann certainly would be a fine instrument for many . Cheers
