My Dad was born in the Eastern Townships of Quebec in the early 30s... At the time the area was known as the Asbestos Capital of the world... I remember him telling me that the horse track in front of the family farm was widened and paved after WW2 and by the following summer the road turned green. This was because the gravel used was so high in Asbestos... In the late 70s, early 80s, we were going "Down Home" every year for a family reunion, and you could see where work had been done, (Installing underground utilities) but for the most part the original green surface was still there... How is that for long lasting?

Thanks for sharing. I smiled when you said "Slurry Seal", we were told not to refer to it as that "because it doesn't sound very nice". A very old colleague of mine described it "it looks like gorilla poop" and I have to agree. Every time I walk up and down a certain footpath near my home I think of gorilla poop. Simple things make you smile. Has your company tried that new tarmac that's mixed with graphene yet? Take care, Poo

I don't deal with the resurfacing Poo, but they do try many materials to try and help the environment.

Over here in California what they're doing now is resurfacing the roads with old tires well they're grinding the tires up and resurfacing with them they're not laying tires down end in to end

Because the materials are now environmentally friendly they don't last as long. The tar that was used in the 20's to 50's caused many to die from cancer. My say I have to work till I am 67.....lol. another 7 years 🤔😦🥶.
