I don't know Kano, so you might be on your own. The micro:bit should look like any other USB thumb drive.

That usually is an indication that something was typed incorrectly in the code. Double check your code and try uploading your program again.

You can. MakeCode is a graphical block-based language whereas MicroPython is text-based. Both offer different ways to interact with the micro:bit.
