One subtle detail I've only just noticed is there are now _two_ I2C buses. The onboard devices get a dedicated i2c bus and the edge connector one is an independent bus. That's rather reminiscent of enterprise solutions of yesteryear for SCSI bus isolation. It may allow the onboard bus to run at a faster speed.

Superb... thanks for this. Very well explained. A good balance between theory and practical application. R

Good video, Stu ! Very informative; I just got a new V2 Microbit with the Yahboom Spiderbit kit. Thanks for your info.

can the microbit 2.0 communicate by radio to a 1.5 microbit?

Regarding the sound recording files, Stu. I do not have the MB V2 yet but does it save audio to a file type which can be transferred to computer drive? If so, has anyone tried to load that sound onto MakeCode Arcade game console, like MeowBit or BrainPad? Wondering if we could record ambient sounds, like live rocket launch, and load that into Arcade game ? Thanks.

This looks great Stu. but how to test the new version of Makeode? Do you have an URL for that?
@StuLowe804 жыл бұрын
I don't think there is a public URL for it yet, should be there soon I would think as release is only a few weeks away.

Nice presentation, I didn't know this was on the way! Have you noticed any code behaving differently with the faster nRF52833 processor (3:06)? I see a lot of code where the timing depends on the speed of execution and I wonder how that behaves with the 4x clock speed and M4 FPU. The extra memory is good news as it should give MicroPython enough space to run Bluetooth Low Energy library.

In the testing I've done so far the code seems to execute at exactly the same speed. But these were not complicated programs at this point. I do have a rather resource hungry program I will be running on one of them next week. I should be able to compare that side by side with a V1.
where can we get the firmware of the micro:bit v2?The official website is only updated to 0253, but v2 need version 0254
@StuLowe804 жыл бұрын
I believe the firmware will still be in beta on these engineering sample units. If you have V2 micro:bit for evaluation then I would contact the contact who sent them to you.

@@StuLowe80 I would love to know the contact that provided you the firmware so that I can contact the contact that have you the firmware :D

@@dhruvsheth7260 you'd need to contact the people at micro:bit about that one.
