I literally just finished building my van and before i started my ‘must have’ items were a fixed, double bed so I could have a proper mattress rather than that fold up foam stuff and, full size comfy seats. Basically all I do at home. Sit down or be in bed. The rest of my van I built around it. I’ve got like a mini L shape sofa built in :-)

@@BanksyTravels you replied :-) wow :-) thanks! I went to Scarborough on Friday night for my first ever trip. Got there around 10pm, like 50-80 other campers all lined up. Parked up, got the diesel heater on and went for a walk with a cigar up the front. Nice and peaceful. I have a Peugeot boxer 2019 with 70k miles on it. Another of my ‘must have’ features was I have to be able to stand up in it. I have (had) zero experience with anything I did just watched KZbin videos for all the hints and tips so thank YOU and people like you for the videos. I power mine entirely from a bluetti 200max or whatever it’s called. No solar fitted yet although I have 2 panels ready to go, just need a nice day where it doesn’t rain haha. Keep up the amazing work with your videos. You and others like you inspired me to make my van :-)

That’s awesome mate, Scarborough is beautiful but I haven’t been for a while. I will definitely have to pop over there soon. You have a lot more room than I do then 😂😂 a diesel heater is definitely on my list now before next winter 😅 had a few very cold nights out the last few weeks. I’m also looking at possibly having a solar panel in the next few months so I can stay in one spot for a little longer. Hopefully those warmer days aren’t too far away 🤞🏼 Thank you so much for the kind words, if I can even slightly help one person thats great so it means a lot. @@BanksyTravels the bluetti charges while I drive from the 12v cig lighter port thing. I only used 20% battery over one night with lights, heater, fan, phone charger and electric blanket. Defo worth investing in as you can easily lift it out to charge from a wall if needed. It charges about 10% in 1 hour when driving tho but for me that’s 20% just getting home from Scarborough so was 100% again. I went this route because solar works, of course but it’s easy :-)

Good advice and a great build, Another thing that i do before i go to park in a public street is to draw all blinds and have something to eat so you draw as little attention as possible. when you get to your destination. i pinched this idea from another vlogger.

Agree on everything! The toilet thing is important. Sometimes it's hard to find a public loo and sometimes it's not feasible even for guys to find somewhere to do no1. Too many people around or bad weather. But it really doesn't have to be complicated. I use a bucket and bin bags and a bottle for no1. Used it for years.

100% mate, gotta have a plan for emergencies 😂😂 a bucket is more than enough 😅 to be honest even though I had a toilet I still used a bottle for No.1s when I was in Scotland for a while to save space in the toilet 😂😂

I’m planning on doing this for so long. The toilet 🚽 situation is probably my biggest problem but I’d rather 💩 in a bucket than a public toilet and you can get degradable bags so that’s so handy. Hey Tara, I've tried the above idea and although it works ok, a cheap cassette porta potty is a lot more comfortable and easy to use and live with. I know that you will love the camping life so just do it.

Some good tips! I don't have a toilet in mine 😅😂 I was exactly the same as you once I'd bought my van and converted it, I was kind of nervous to use it and stay in it just in case I didnt like or enjoy it after spending all the time and money on it but it's absolutely amazing and pretty much just as I imagined it would be! Plus the satisfaction of knowing you converted it all yourself too is a big bonus 😃

If your back in Scotland give me a shout got a T5 I usually go away around Scotland with. I do agree everyone should have a toilet of some sort nothing worse than gettign caught short lol I do have a question you said about parking up and going to the pub do you ever worry about the police knocking? I would like to have a few drinks when I'm backed up but I have seen a lot of people saying its illegal?? Wouldn't mind a wee Kopparberg doing a bit of cooking tbh :/

Awesome mate, I will do. If I use a Brit stop I pop into the pub and have a couple of drinks as I’m staying on their carpark which is usually private land so as far as I’m aware you can’t be convicted for being in the van. If I’m just on a normal park up then I will only have one drink or mostly none just to be sure 😁😁

Mine is white and got beacons on the roof and also being a licenced radio operator have 3 antennas on the roof. No one comes near THAT!! LOL
