Good video. Very helpful. That dremel action reminded me I have a teeth cleaning this Friday. 👍

Super tech badge earned for that repair. By the way your van is cleaner than mine.😀

Hahahaha yea my van is organized in the video. Man i hate it when my van is a mess. I step on things and break stuff while crawling around trying to get to other things. Then that really pisses me off. LOL thanks for watching, I appreciate the compliment.

Thanks for watching. Yea man it’s pretty good. Takes a little practice with the flame. I have been using that product for about 5 years now. Works good

Very helpful. I have (7) 400 ton chillers and at least 4 more coming any they all have microchannel coils.

Can you use a map gas torch on that?
@20antman Жыл бұрын
Yes it’s actually better. Geographically it spreads the heat better.

Will it work on condenser coils ? Since it's much higher pressure,

$2,700 + $400 freight for a 36"X52" micro channel condenser coil which is one of two circuits straight replacement 6.5 Ton York Predator gaspack ZH078 series, unit its 11 yrs old but its in good shape top of the line, if I can save money $3,100 I would. Now waiting for manufacturer in Gardena, CA. that assures 42% savings on the OEM part that'll bring the price down to $1,566 not including tax 28 days lead, or go for 3-5 days expediate and pay more. This is a good fix thank you.

Would that work on any kind of aluminum?.....not from an refer coil.....
@20antman6 жыл бұрын
Probably it would work. I only used it on refer coils. I used to repair the old spine fin aluminum coils from Trane with the same product

All aluminium except aluminium that contain magnesium, it won’t stick!

I tried to solder mine with MAPP gas at high setting but it just wouldn't get hot enough. Even tried to melt the channel but no way! Not sure if mine was an alloy. Used the AL822 but failed grrrr.

@20antman6 жыл бұрын
It will not work like it did before???? Nothing works like it did before. Not sure if i understand your comment. Micro channel has been around for years in refrigeration condensers. At least 15 years back heat craft has been using micro channel style condenser coils. To be honest i never seen one of there condenser coils leak.

@@20antman I'm just giving my opinion in 23 years have only changed 3 condenser coils on straight cool tube and fin style but have changed dozens microchan

@@20antman mostly York micro channel is what we have seen leaking some Nordyne
@20antman6 жыл бұрын
I have changed a bunch on tube and fin condenser coils over the years. I agree micro channel coils suck. But actually they are more efficient and hold less refrigerant. Less refrigerant has its pros and cons. But it comes down to the quality of the coil when its made. The cheaper ones are shit. But i cant agree that micro channel coils will be leaving the a/c world. The manufactures will make them better.

Which combination of aluminium rod and flux are you used in this brazing of aircondition coil plese Thanking you sir from Ahmedabad india

Will this work on a car radiator? and where can i buy the rod?
@20antman6 жыл бұрын
I actually repaired a leak in my radiator about 2 years ago. It held. I’ll be honest. It was not that easy. I am pretty good with the torch and took me a bit to get it done. I think the quality of aluminum is less in the car radiators. It melts pretty easy. The rod can be bought online or at most HVAC supply stores.
@crpth14 жыл бұрын
@@20antman - Adding to what you already said. Car radiator/condenser usually as the issue of dirt, a lot of it! Something that surely doesn't help any repair process.

Why simulate it looks like that coil already had a bad leak oil wet spot
@20antman6 жыл бұрын
Actually that coil was from a 15 ton condenser coil. I cut out that section with a saw zall to demonstrate the brazing rod thing. That right side of the coil is oily because i ran the saw zall down that right side. Also if you notice the oily side of the coil has no header pipe ( big pipe at the end) this is because originally that is not the end of the coil. If my explanation is not clear. You can google search micro channel coils/ images then see how a completed coil looks. Thanks for watching. Hope the explanation was clear.

Just replace the coil screw all this
@20antman6 жыл бұрын
That is another way to look at it for sure. For me it all depends on the situation. Most big commercial coils will need to be ordered from the factory. Your looking at 1-2 weeks wait time. You gotta get the unit back running some how.
