I lived in florida when i was young. I remember going to a place called croom. Not sure if im spelling it right but it looked alot like the place you are in the film. It was about 40 years ago.

Been watching your videos since I got my 2001 Kia Sportage. Just lifted it and found out that KSP 3” front leveling lift kit for 2005 to 2021 Toyota Tacoma on Amazon lifted the front 4”s. Bolts directly to top of the strut mount. Had to drill out strut tower holes for bigger mounting bolts and turn strut assemblies 180 degrees to make it work. Lifted the rear like everyone else and yes springs will fall out with Rav 4 shocks. Lol. Did a body lift with Zone Off-road 3” body lift blocks on Amazon. Will send pictures if you would like. Can’t wait to see your next video.

I really like the first GEN, especially because they are quite robust and reliable for off-road use. Make sure you swing over to our Facebook group so that you can share pictures as you go. There are also a lot of people that can help answer any questions that you are going to come across.

I always thought about lifting mine but in the end, I never really had to. I went with one tire size over stock, and I have plenty of clearance.

Very cool! There are lots of really good rigs running around that have no lift. I more or less had to because on my mountain in Tennessee, there were some large rock that would get hung up underneath. Now that I’m here in Florida, There is still benefit because the ruts are very deep and so is the mud.

Thanks man for enjoying the video. I think the vintage of the rear shock is somewhere around 1999. It goes up and down a couple of years but if you choose for a 99 it will be the right one. Just keep in mind that because the stroke is longer, under full articulation in the spring can come out of its perch in the back. You’ll want to either weld and isolator on your existing purchase or use limit straps on your axle.

15x8 aluminum rims , ford rims! I’m almost afraid to try them with 30x9.50s. Would they be too big for an automatic?

My wheels are 15 x 7 cheap steel aftermarket units. I honestly would recommend aluminum over the steel. In my opinion, I think a 30 inch tire with an aluminum wheel would probably be just fine with an automatic transmission. Bigger tires and heavier wheels suck up a lot of power and usually require a different gear ratio. My wheels are -6 mm offset, but pretty sure Ford or jeep CJ would be the right types. They have a larger center bore that is big enough for the Sportage front hub lockers.

Stock 1996 Ford F150 rims won't fit over the hubs and the bolts on the drums. The bolt pattern is the same. You can make them fit if you want. I run 31x10.50x15's on 15x10 steel wagon wheel

1997-2006 covers all TJ jeep wranglers. I have experience using 1997-2002.

It is a super secret performance exhaust configuration that I’m not sure I can tell you about. What the heck, here goes! The tail pipe behind the muffler rusted through so I cut it off just a couple of inches from the muffler itself. There is also a broken flex pipe right off of the first bend up front That leaks. Other than that, 100% stock lol

I think what you are hearing is the resonance Underneath from not having the tail pipe. My Mustang used to rumble the same way with turn downs.

I’m not in to the muddying! I live here in south central ky if it snows I got 4 wheel drive lol! Appreciate you getting back with me. The 30 mm lift kit would it give enough clearance for 235 s or 30x9.50s you think?

@@rogermcwilliams6786 The 30 mm lift kit will definitely give enough room for a 235 7515. If you jump on my channel here, go back to some of the earlier videos and check them out. That’s the combination I started with. I agree with you that I am not into muddying either. I have seen a lot of it now that I am back here in Florida. I have a place up in South Central Kentucky and Really like mountain riding better. The place before that was in North Central Tennessee. Both places are very close to Dale Hollow Lake.

I actually have started making them myself. I had somebody making them for me, and she is no longer in the game. So I went out and bought the equipment and the vinyl to do it myself. I need to actually get around to putting a price tag on them because so many people have been asking. I’m out of state but when I get back home in a couple of days, I will sit down and make a few. I will post something in the group on Facebook.

Absolutely! The only thing I’m unsure about is if any modifications need to be made to the auto shifter when adding the body lift. Plus, I would probably recommend a 5.38:1 gear set with 31” tires or larger.

@@micro-pigoffroadclub8387 Good to know. Thanks. We got snow a week ago and the 4wd was mehh not impressive. Open rear diff and fronts not sure if they were grabbing. If they were, it felt lazy. Will need to get the manual locking ones and cap the vaccum lines or whatever off the old controller.

@@dashiznit89 I definitely recommend manual hub locks. The vacuum system is problematic. These little 4WD’s are very capable and continue to surprise me.

@@micro-pigoffroadclub8387 Those manual locking hubs are super easy to install. Valuable tip...use locktite on the 6 bolts do not skip this step.
