Slime Molds, Staining Experiment on Daphnia | Microscopy Livestream

Today I will look at two things: Slime Molds and Daphnia. I will be staining some yeast cells purple and then feed them to the Daphnia. You can then see the digestive system of the Daphnia turn purple.

@Microbehunter 43:30 Although I have never done this procedure .. That looks like an awful lot of stain to me. Maybe try dipping a needle into a drop of stain a couple of times, each time apply what adheres to the needle to the sample (?)

MH: hi, i think, if the mold is like a film growing on a surface, the stain should be underneath it to be absorbed as it grows on top of the stained food

what about staining the nuclei...........Kernechtrot-Aluminiumsulfat.......dont you have that. krystalviolett kills the slime molds
