1:54 that was definitely not me getting nerve damage from playing surviving mars for 16 hours every day for the duration of two weeks. I was taking some awful medication for "off brand gut cancer", don't ask, I don't know, playing surviving mars was all I managed to do in between destroying the toilet. Still love that game ❤

Thing I like with this is yeah it's a clicker, and there's crises, but those are almost entirely controllable - you only really get them after specific things, or if your population is wildly out of control up or down. Almost never a reason to panic or rush.
@frankiecedeno372410 ай бұрын
This is cute, the fact that a clicker game has events and negative events does a lot.
@beckstheimpatient413510 ай бұрын
I played this demo a while back, but I'm not a huge fan of the mechanics - mostly because it requires too much physical effort to play. Unlike most idle games, this one requires active clicking too much and it becomes fairly painful. I love the idea, but it needs a pinch more automation. Not to mention that it blocks any people with pre-existing conditions from playing.
@harley-owo9 ай бұрын
You might benefit from using an autoclicker! There are programs you can use that click a specified spot repeatedly at set intervals, so all you need to do is toggle it on or off. A lot of us with disabilities use this kinda thing with clicker games, but it would be cool to start seeing them built-in.

It is still weird to me that people think of cookie clicket more than the paperclip clicker game... Cookie clicker was the parady game of the paperclick clicker... The paperclip game had... you know, an actual good story..

You mean Universal Paperclips? That was made 4 years after cookie clicker...

Cookie Clicker wasn't first clicker game, but it was absolutely one of them. It was also the one with enough aesthetic flair and "stuff" to really launch the idle/incremental genre among the larger gaming public. It's just like how Vampire Survivors was far from the first horde survival "bullet heaven", but it was the one that broke through. (I still prefer Magic Survival on mobile, which came out over a year prior to VS.)
@illmnts10 ай бұрын
@@stephanieaensland6520 When I first saw someone play Vampire Survivors it reminded me of Crimsonland from the early 2000s but you fire a weapon manually in that, the other core elements are there though. But even that was based on Phobia II from 1998 (Just a twin stick arena survival shooter, no unlocks, perks or RPG elements). People just sort of didn't see it as a genre until Vampire Survivors (autofiring and bullet hell visuals were their main additions) and all the garbage clones started coming. It's like Doom wasn't the first FPS but defined the genre and suddenly came a bunch of garbage clones. I remember when FPS games were called "Doom Clones" for years. I'm trying to think of other examples of something failing to define a genre, years pass, game and clone explosion. Survival horror, you had alone in the dark then nothing until Resident Evil and then everyone was doing it. (again, mostly garbage)

Considering just how flammable the village is in-game, I think you're right, the DO store soldiers in the granary, they're golems made of straw just like everything else.

Maybe the Ascension Tier II is the tower of Babel being constructed?
@mekkiepoo8 ай бұрын
I feel like the combat could be improved if you didn't get to choose when attacks happened. Then you wouldn't always have your combos saved up. Like if you could choose to attack mammoths etc, but barbarians would attack on their own... an offensive and defensive faction that you would have to balance between.

Someone might have pointed this out in the vod, but I haven't gotten to it yet. You can hold down A or S to autoclick the button.

I usually watch your classic game stuff which I don't have any interest in playing again. Just great nostalgia. Came across this and downloaded immediately. I'm really digging it. The later ascensions gets pretty intense. A really great brain exercise with multitasking. Hope they paid you.

I have boned myself so many times by lining up two quests with conflicts so I can double boost my military, but I fail to keep my risk low enough and end up with one or more social issues that take up my boosts and then I have to make a mad dash for more military or something to prep for the still-oncoming crises.
