Cracking start to 2024 and modular to boot. Great sounds keep looking at my little set up and wondering 'why does mine not sound like that!' lol. Nice one SA
@stateazure Жыл бұрын
Haha, I'm sure yours sounds great too, Tony! The trick with most of mine, including this one is using a good sounding polyphonic synth (in this case the Hydrasynth) and improvise some layered stuff into the looper (Lubadh) to build a really nice ambient base. Everything else playing is very basic/simple stuff, except maybe the bass!
@VirtualModular Жыл бұрын
Yep, like an onion. Layers! Plus liberal amounts of quality effects.

I've been wondering if you were still making videos. Seems my subscription was lost for whatever reason! Wow, that looks and sounds good. Also very nice to see the Laniakea in your rig.
@stateazure Жыл бұрын
Thanks, CL! I've heard of that happening, subs/notification alerts getting reset etc. But yeah, still doing the eurorack videos just quite a bit slower than before. Laniakea is great, you made a nice video on that one which helped my decision to get it. I'll do a better video with that module soon I think.

Sounds awesome! Takes me back to the days of "Titan". I didn't think that you even had that setup anymore. Thanks for the awesome music to start my day Pat.
@stateazure Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Zeke! No, the setup I made Titan with is history, but that doesn't mean I can't make tracks as similar and complex as that, I just haven't really tried. I was thinking of actually continuing that 'Moon's of Saturn' actually. Saturn has 146 known moons apparently, so plenty of titles to use :)

This is utterly gorgeous man! I have a humble Eurorack set up that includes a Lúbadh and this gives me some serious inspiration. Your answer to Inverted Popes’ comment gave me some food for thought! I forget that with ambient stuff, textures are best ‘unsynced’ to anything… My resolution for 2024, do better! Cheers for the ace music.

Thank you! Yes, Lubadh is amazing for building up some background ambient...or even an entire ambient track. I like to feed it with my Hydrasynth, but you could keep it all within the eurorack system and build a nice layered loop.

I love that nastiness coming through Freak. What filter setting is that? It's a Digitakt sample? I have not seen a lot of folks using Laniakea since I have had it. It's a very different VCO.
@stateazure Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Actually Freak was just one of the basic LPFs, the real gritty and nasty sounds were mostly due to Belgrad - that filter is really something else. Laniakea seems really nice, but I haven't spent enough time with it yet, seems especially nice for drones so far.
@mntbighker Жыл бұрын
@@stateazure Agree on Laniakea 100% I need a Belgrad, but I swore you were twiddling Freak when I heard that awesome miles deep rasp.

Oh I might have been, Shapeshifter was going through both Belgrad AND Freak, and I was tweaking each of them, but Freak was after the Belgrad, mostly taming the crazy stuff@@mntbighker

Bro how long did it take you to learn this stuff
@stateazure5 ай бұрын
I just learned it slowly over the course of months while starting with a much smaller eurorack system of just a few modules, then adding one or two at a time. To learn a system like this that's already fairly large and pre-built would be really difficult I think
@thomasgainz48855 ай бұрын
@@stateazure ahh, that would be a good way to approach it, that’s really cool though I’ve never heard of this kinda stuff till like last year. I was blown away needless to say.
