Two years before Transformers a kid in my class had one of the 'robot watch' toys seen here. I think his Dad had been on a business trip to Japan and brought the robot watch back with him as a present.

I played with a number of these in the 80s rebranded as transformers...holy sh#t! I had no idea they were EXACT same ones. Especially the cassette that turned into a dog..my buddy had that very same toy!

@@RXQ1jj g1 Megatron had a bit more complicated transformation (as far as I remember) plus some extra parts like scope and silencer, but this is the the toy Megatron was based on. Btw, Reflector (3 robots combined in a camera) is the exact g1 toy.
