MicroMissions- Bungoma Project #5 “Well Water”
The old community well is located on the property of the church and was a stable water source for the more than 200 family households situated within this rural forrest community.
In the spring of 2022, the ever-growing roots from the tall trees caused the old brick well to collapse in upon itself. For the past 6 months, the nearly two thousand people living under this canopy have been fetching their water from shallow streams and open pools of runoff. This water is used for everything from cooking and bathing to washing clothes and utensils and drinking.
Now the old well must be properly filled and sealed, and a new community well must be dug.
