Dr.Mattie Moss Clark reminds me so much of my fostermom, Dr.Viola Brunson; she too, was a minister of music, a church organist;my sister & I attended 2 churches & were in 2 choirs!!!❤

I went to school here at St Agnes from 1963 to 1971 grades 1-8. The 2 story building was called Building C with the Bingo hall and kitchen on the bottom floor and classrooms on the 2nd floor. Grades 1-3. That was connected to Building B (the middle building) for grades 4-6, and finally the last section was called Building A for grades 7-8. Building A had the cafeteria in the basement and classrooms on the upper level. Prior to Powers Catholic Central opening around 1971, St Agnes was grades 1-12, but the high school merged with several other Catholic Schools when Powers opening. My mother worked in the St Agnes Rectory, that is the housing building next to the garage. The Rectory was where the priests lived. On the other side of the church building is the convent, where the nuns lived. Back in the day I remember the football fields (the regular field and the practice field) were separated by the building that housed the 2 locker rooms. Then there were the to ball diamonds where we played a lot of baseball. On the far side of the 2nd baseball diamond was the wooded area we called "The Grove" and it had a small building that was abandoned even when I grew up there. I lived just 3 houses away from St Agnes at 401 W Parkway Ave. You can see it on Zillow and Google Maps. Our old house sold in 2022 for just $1200. Sad what has happened to this whole area due to poverty, drugs, crime, unemployment and bad government. The whole are looked a LOT better when I lived there. I moved out of Flint and out of Michigan in 1976 to join the Air Force. Boy I'm glad I left, never to live in Flint again.

Dr. Mattie Moss Clark "I always make this statement; Aretha Franklin can sing anything but SHE AIN'T SAVED. She can sing and make you feel real good". If she can say that about Aretha, I wonder what she would say about Beyonce' JayZ and her daughters allowing them to sample her music.
