The typical polar pattern diagrams show the sensitivity at some angle, but how do we determine sensitivity over distance? This is important to know, for example, when you are trying to minimize bleed from a guitar in the vocalists lap. But I cannot find any such 3D diagrams depicting such a metric. Speakers sensitivity over distance is shown in decibels per 1 watt per 1 meter. Why not a similar unit or metric for microphone sensitivity ?
