Eventide is the real deal. The Time Factor is still relevant 15 years later, but this is state of the art and more straightforward in scope. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir, especially on this channel.

EDIT 15/3/21: It turns out it has MIDI sync, I just couldn't see 'MIDI in' on the pedal in the pictures, but I think it takes MIDI via TRS through the 'expression pedal in'. Looks like it could be a little tedious to set up, but then MIDI often is! So it does look like a brilliant pedal and worth the money then! It's obviously very good - like it sounds incredible, but for that money I'd at least want MIDI clock in... Like if you're into 'sequencing stuff', you're going to want your delay pedal to have MIDI sync - right? Unless you have more than one delay I guess. But it does seem like an oversight. disclaimer: obviously MIDI sync isn't essential and MIDI sync only really gives convenience, I was fine with my non MIDI sync'd delay, just my new (to me!) delay with MIDI sync is very convenient and I'd struggle to justify this sort of money without MIDI sync
@swst093 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. In the user manual there is a part about setting on/off midi clock, what does that mean?

Not really related to this video, but I had a question that I thought this might be a good place to air. I've been thinking of getting into modular synths and there's a lot of stuff out there on what you need, to get up and running with a few modules. But what people don't talk about is mini performance. Let me explain that. If you were going away for a weekend with a few friends and you played the acoustic guitar you're self contained. You can whip out an acoustic guitar and play a few songs. It's more cumbersome with an electric guitar or Bass, but there are small Wattage Amps readily available. Unfortunately neither a Guitar Amp or a Bass amp are going to have the frequency range available to Synths. So what you obviously need is a PA System, but the PA systems I've seen are really for real 'performance' in a small venue, rather then sitting around with a few friends. Guess you just have to go with small studio monitors and suitable amp, oh and small mixing system if you have a few synths. Everything is the bluetooth these days. maybe there's a euro rack bluetooth module I've missed There are great small modular systems like 'Modular on roof' kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGa9YYVvebhnq5I but they seem to use headphones, which is perfect what you're sitting on your own on a roof, but...
@mvsr9903 жыл бұрын
For a good battery powered amplification source, the Yamaha THR10 in 'flat mode' works great - it's basically a 2x3" PA speaker (with some built in effects).

Yyyoooooo, some of these effects methods remind me of some of the sounds on the bass lines from your ep “Deci”. Would you ever be interested in doing a video diving into some of your tracks? Like your sounds synthesis and how you built the song.

I love pedals and synths and new gear as much as the next guy but I'm starting to get tired of the fact that every couple months it seems there's a new reverb or delay that just blows away every other reverb or delay out there. There was the Microcosm no wait the Empress reverb is better but then there's the Echosystem. Strymon is worse. Big Sky, Blue Sky, Night Sky. Now Eventide is taking single algorithms out of their Timefactor and Space pedals, charging $300 and the excuse is always "easier user interface". When really they realized they made a mistake and could've made more money making 20 different pedals at 300 each instead of 4 at 500 each.

@@locotek yeah i have an Oceans11 reverb, Obscura delay and a handful of TC Electronics.chorus, delay, reverb and looper. The only thing that has come close to piquing my interest is the Empress Zoia. But even then I'll wait for a used eurorack version to hit Reverb.com. I think I'm good for now.
