I have a D1. Would I upgrade to a D2? For that price? No! So I bought a mint condition black Akai MPC1000 instead 😀

I have the same Palette 62 case. I got 24x 2HP Brand modules and a drum sequencer in the 1U slot. I use it as a modular drum machine crafting my kick, snare & hat patches scratch from modulating osc, noise & fed back filters. It's bliss, perfect for percussion, I still use a vintage mono for bass and leads tho_ the 2Hp modules aren't exactly knob turners or "performance" synths modules.

The screen doesn’t affect the way they work though, right? I have 3 PO’s, and I’m sure I will someday break a screen. But it will still work fine, right?

Dang, this is a bit complicated but Ricky explains it very well. I’ve been eyeballing this unit and the lower model because I have multiple synths and an old as% computer using Reason 10. I love reason and it’s my DAW of choice, but Ableton works better with this setup. I’m still gonna make it work for Reason and eventually get a new computer. I got a bunch of semi vintage instruments that don’t have USB but most of my stuff does. Virus TI, Korg Radias, King Korg, Moogs, Tastychips GR-1 and a Digi-takt/tone. Point is, I think I might be able to just get a new computer and solve my ever going midi issue, but this clock generator might be what I really need. Even with the old computer. It’s a maxed out 2010 mbp and runs pretty darn smoothly besides handling multiple midi to and from the computer.

Good video it helped me to set up the Novation... but could you do a video about how to activate those white buttons? How to download loops in them🙏 that'll be a great tutorial

Is there a way to take sounds from the V collection and add them to this? LIke I would add some moog patches from the VST I already own. Thanks

Great video as always! Just got my DT2 back from repair. As someone who didn't like DT1, I am pleased about all the additions to the new version and think it's a keeper. Thanks for the 16 levels! I feel you probably had something to do with that being implemented…now all we need is a new SLICE machine ;) 🤫

It's more about the flexibility, Ableton can do pretty much any swing, an MPC can't, Ableton can do pretty much any sample rate or EQ, am MPC can't.

Nice tutorial as always, but I think using in positive mode is a pain in order to recalculating again.. if you add a new plugin on the channel, needs to recalculate again.. I prefer negative mode and add one blank bar to the beginning of the project and always my start is on bar 2. Sorry for my english is not my mother tongue.

I think what hasn’t been said here is that SP is way to go for Hip-Hop, Trance and other people who think in samples. EP is more for people who think in notes, more conservative synth audience who also wants to try sampling. I don’t have that vision that is shown in the SP music making videos but I have a traditional composer vision so I chose the KO2.

Thanks for the video, Ricky! I have a PTSD thinking about all of this :)) It would be lovely to see a video depicting a full workflow where you use multiple hardware devices to record and produce a track (maybe i missed?)

Yo Ricky and comment crew - why are more synth KZbinrs not using Push 3? Is it just price, or is there another reason nobody is really talking about it? Yes, not really a comparison to the Digi, but with stereo and more channels it's getting closer.

I hace the digitakt 2 but after painstakingly putting my library on there now I can not load any more sounds it’s over 52% full I can not delete files neither it’s like the drive just don’t respond and not had no messages back from support the transfer app fails and if I format the drive it has taken me over 4 days to fill up 10gb of files which on my Mpc would take minutes don’t know what to do is this an isolated issue with my drive

By the way thanks so much for your work here , very clean , elegant and inspiring. Cheers from Japan .
