Microscope slide chamber for plankton

Hello Clive. After having been away from the hobby for quite a while, I've noticed depression slides, or as I've known them as deepwell slides, are not as deep as I recall them to be. The O-ring spacer is an elegant solution to that problem. Thank you very much for putting this video up.

The main challenge is making a waterproof seal. O-rings come in different thicknesses - the bigger the depth, the more volume you can examine but the image quality will be reduced.

Thank you for your video, but what is the diameter of the o-ring that we can use?

The width of a standard slide is 1 inch/2.5 cm, so any ring a bit smaller than this should work
