Microsoft Access A to Z: Creating custom functions with VBA

This short screencast covers how to create calculated fields using built-in Access functions such as Date and Int to calculate a person's age in years, as well as how to create custom functions using VBA. In this process the Expression Builder is used to reveal/find the existing built-in functions within Access and the Visual Basic Editor (VBE) is used to create a new custom function that is used to make a calculation in a query.

VBA really hasn't changed a whole lot for a very long time given Microsoft's strategy has been to push C# vs. Visual Basic so old books still work pretty well for this.
