Microsoft Access Beginner 2, Lesson 05: Trusted Locations, Form Design, Relationships, Combo Boxes

In Lesson 5, we will continue working with relationships. We'll build an appointment form. We'll learn how to build a relational combo box so we can pick a customer from a list of customers. We'll make a command button so that we can open the appointment form and see just the appointments for the selected customer.

Hi Richard. Love the series. I've got a question: you copied the notes field from the customer form to the appointment form, and your talk track suggested that you could get to that note field from both forms. But both the customer table and the appointment table have notes fields. Is each form accessing its own table's notes field, or are they accessing a common notes field from only one of the tables? If so, is one of those notes fields wasted (at least in terms of the forms that have been built)? Also, I'd like the next lesson please! :-)

Each table has a Notes field, so they are separate. However since the the fields are named the same, you can copy the CONTROL (text box) that is bound to it from one form to another without having to change anything. Two separate fields though.

Hi dear Where can i find the lesson regarding creating quariry to bring the data from other tabel such as I have data of emp id and name and disgnation I want inquiry to inter the emp id and bring me the disgnation and name then i have to add other faild with datat of travel date as an example and then all the data to be store in other table as full record

Hi Richard. Thank you for your free tutorials. I have a question sir. Can we lock a certain record for safe keeping purposes so that no one can modify it? And open it again with a password to make it editable for correction if needed. While it is lock, others may see it only as read only file but cannot be printed. Only the registered user can print the record. I hope this issue is also concern by other users for security reason. Thanks
