A very useful video. I'm planning to buy the reverb G2 for my sim. My PC specs: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, MSI B550 Board, Radeon rx5700xt nitro+, 32GB RAM. In your video you have listed this RX5700XT and say that it will work. But I read in firums, that it will not work. What do you mean? Shall I buy one? I don' t need ultra resolution, middle settings are ok for me. Hope to find help here....

The Pimad VR headsets blow away all the headsets you reviewed. The Pimax 8K X has Dual 4K LCD panels with 3840 X 2160 per eye. The refresh rate is 75Hz native 4K mode and 90 or 115Hz in upscale mode. These specs are awesome, but where the Pimax VR headsets really blow away all competition is with their field of view. The Pimax 8K X headset has a 200 degree field of view. Too bad the reverb G2 creates problems for many users with regard to "error 7-14" (apparently USB connection issue). I still didn't get mine to work on a MSI Z490 MotherBoard, RTX 3090, and i9 10900K CPU system. Even after upgrading all drivers, and installing powered USB PCIe card. No support whatsoever from HP on this issue. It worked brilliantly for a day and it failed miserably after that with the error 7-14, and never recovered. Thus i returned the reverb to the vendor.

@guybrushthreepwood30023 жыл бұрын
@@jetfuelboy the actual headset is very much next generation compared to the Rift S, image quality, clarity, colour reproduction, it's a wonderful thing to look through. For my head it's very comfy, more so than Rift S. Controllers aren't as good, neither is hand tracking(for the most part it's perfectly fine though) head positioning I find better, in sims, I can take the set on and off, and I rarely every have to reset it when in cockpits. Sound is also excellent, I still like to use a headset on occasion, but the inboard speakers are excellent, as is the mic. Not so good things, expect to spend the first couple of weeks getting the thing set up, there will be teething problems, and endless time spent tinkering with settings to get it all running nice. I've a 3080 and 5800x, and my pc has been brought to its knees crying in FS2020 trying to run this at full resolution. I'd absolutely recommend it, with the caveats of its a ball ache to set up, and the hand controllers aren't great. It's very much one for the enthusiasts, if that's you, go for it.

I played MSFS last night in VR for the first time and it's pretty demanding. I have an RTX 3080 with a Valve Index, I barely get 50fps. 50fps isn't terrible in a flight sim because things don't move as fast in the sky, graphically. I don't see how you could play this with a wireless headset or without at least having a 2080ti.
@Hani_Santa3 жыл бұрын
50fps is really good if your graphics and resolution are nice. Don't expect 90+ fps in flightsims for a couple of years. VR is just to demanding.
@CC-gt3ro3 жыл бұрын
I have a 1080ti and ryzen 1800x and vr with my samsung odyssey works smoothly without any issues at high settings. It has 1440x1600 per eyes. Everything is smooth and superior to 40fps easily. I haven’t check but everything is displayed without stuttering. In 2d i can do more 35fps in 4k high settings and my headset res is inferior to 4k 2d as in fact 2880x1600 instead of 3840x 2160. So it is less demanding.
@CC-gt3ro3 жыл бұрын
However after thinking i must correct my assertion that it is not more demanding. Because in vr the two eyes are slighly different rendering, so it is more demanding for the cpu certainly. For the gpu it has to render two different scenes but the textures are the same, so it has to render 50% of the scene for one eye and the other 50% for the other eye, so it should not be so different. The difference is more demanding for the cpu which need to calculate the triangle for two scenes but half size each but still different scenes. So in overall, the vr is more demanding resources. However it does not change my fps result which are really good with an now old ryzen 1800x and gtx1080ti.

It won’t be, they already showed gameplay demo. I frankly think it’s ridiculous they went to the trouble of including VR support and then didn’t include support for controllers. Absolutely disappointing. Was really excited to get into MSFS VR as VTOL VR was such a great experience, but half of the VR experience is being able to touch and grab controls, without that it’s not proper vr. I will wait for either mod support or another game like VTOL VR to innovate. Disappointed. :(

@@michaelm.3641 I am sure it’ll come in an update but yeah would be great to have the controllers working. They only had a few months to rollout this VR update and personally the experience is epic considering the time they had but I agree it’ll be superior when/if they add support

@@michaelm.3641 Meanwhile I did buy MSFS. So apparently it wasn't such a dealbreaker to me as I promised. And after playing a while with it, I must say that the mouse isn't that annoying as I thought it would be, despite breaking the immersion. Still I hope that they will add VR controller support somewhere in the near future. That said, I must say that MSFS in VR is just friggin' awesome. It looks stunning and I think the most immersive VR experience thus far. (despite the mouse) At some point I was so immersed in the game that I wanted to grab the yoke of the plane, but I don't have a yoke, I use a joystick. 😂
@yornav2 жыл бұрын
@@IcyTorment You're responding to a very old comment of mine and you're absolutely right. I used to play X-Plane 11 with VR controllers only and thought it was the most immersive, bit I'm now flying MSFS for almost a year now with joystick and a homebrew throttle quadrant and I agree that without those physical controllers it's not as immersive. And now MSFS has VR controller support I even don't bother about it anymore and sometimes even find it annoying when my VR controllers suddenly show up in the cockpit. I designed my throttle quardant in a way that it's ease to control it blindly. I can feel the position of the buttons, handles and knobs and know which one is which. Works like a charm.
