No sim feels like real flying, but MSFS nails everything else and no other sim comes close. They're all just games, and MSFS is the better game by far, X-Plane and P3D don't even come close.

@@JoernR Why would it? Seriously? You can fly normally without "career mode" so if you don't like that gameplay, don't play that mode? Having a purpose for flying is genius. Me, I'm hoping to be able to do things like in the movie "American Made". Landing/Taking off on those crazy runways, avoiding authorities, dumping in the swamp. Ha! That would be super fun. Hoping that'll will be a mod because I'm pretty sure it won't be in the base game.

The big issue, for me, is that they've been saying since announcing MSFS2024 that it was going to be a "thin client," in other words, that little would be stored on the user's PC and lots more of it streamed from "the cloud" than MSFS2020. This tells me that the new sim is likely to use a LOT more bandwidth than before, and it's just as likely that a super-fast internet connection will be needed as a high-powered CPU and GPU.

I still see alot of stutter in the terrain, it has been there since FSX, or even before that, what is causing that? The team has done an amazing job with FS2020-2024, insane technological progress. But yeah, the constant terrain stutter is my pet peeve :D

Very impressed with all the videos I’ve seen and looking forward to this release. One thing I wish people were talking about more was performance / CPU utilization, as that is the primary bottleneck in 2020 and have not heard anything else besides “it has better multithreading”.

Did you test stall characteristics? In the 2020 version stalls are not accurate and always drop violently to the left even when coordinated.

I mean, I accept it is going to be cloud based and utilise CPU multi threading, however, they are saying it is going to be able to perform very well, even better than 2020. I've just got a HOTAS set up and I'm ready for this to ship. Career mode is genius. I hope the expand on it. The idea of running your own airport with various services you earn through buying planes/choppers and upgrading the airport is an instant buy. I hope it's as good as it sounds. It does look amazing and I'm really looking forward to it, but the fact that the frame pacing issue still seems to persist is worrysome. I wonder if this is due to shader compilation and just cannot be avoided? It's the one thing that lets the experience down for me in 2020 and seeing this here again is a bit disappointing for what os otherwise a technical marvel.

The foliage by the landing strip is rectangular too. Probably due to the fact of that zoom-effect, that the sim has yet to render the models of the terrain properly, or maybe lowered graphics settings. Or simply due to the fact that the sim is not at it's full release yet.

I stopped believing in all these after FS 2020, how many of all that you said will be available day 1 ? Many of these were promised back when 2020 launched, look at where we are now, VR is barely usable, performance is still bad, graphical glitches everywhere, bad menus, download manager, store menu is ****...and I can go on and on. We'll see if this is true at launch and after a few real reviews.

Why does everyone keep saying you can walk around in the new SIM, but not a single one of the billion newly released 2024 videos on KZbin actually show you that demonstrated? They're all just using the external cam option for outside shots. Can you actually get out of the plane and walk across the planet as your avatar either in 3rd or 1st person?? Can you walk from a flat surface up a steep incline? Or was the walking mechanic just marketing BS?

Some parts of it look worse than the last version, and the parts that look better don't look better enough. This is what happens when you release a new version of MSFS just four years after the previous version.
