Hello everyone, I have seen many VR questions in the comments below. VR has been verbely confirmed it will be available for 2024. As I have never seen it confirmed in writing I did not included in the video. That been said, it has been verbly confirmed on many occasion by the Microsoft flight Sim team through development live streams, presentations & interviews.

The video says that functioning windscreen wipers is something Microsoft is looking into and judging of the trailers, it looks like the water physics are gonna be upgraded

I'll likely do what I did with 2020, take just one month on GamePass to try it all out, then decide after that whether to buy it or wait for features/improvements. That way I can test it all, especially performance on my own system and know for certain.

it will be on gamepass. I'd imagine there will be different versions, so most likely only the "basic" will be. No pricing yet

Really hoping they improve atc within the game. At the very least having different voices from planes vs controllers would go a long way. Even better if they improve it to the point where you can audibly say your atc clearance request and it interprets it accurately.

It does work in MSFS kind of, maybe not so accurate, but guess what, that's the same in real life. Not sure how this is such a big deal. I've not heard anything by the way to say this is improved, we might here something in the next dev stream on the 25th of September (MSOfficial - Twitch).

Hate to break it to you but VR is a niche within a niche, while it has been said that it is going to be implemented, it is not going to be a priority because most people aren't using VR. Only VR users seem to think that it should be a priority despite not being the majority of the user base.

@@ImpendingJoker This is a Joke LOL. Love VR in MSFS 2020. Sure it can be better but it doesn't detract from an incredible experience. I would buy a headset just to play VR in MSFS, that's how good it is. It's really difficult to go back to flat once you've tried MSFS in VR with like a Quest 3 or better. It's the sense of spatial awareness which say on landing is an incredible experience.

Of course not, it will have better graphics but it has to be scalable remember as pretty much the same code will need to run on consoles. If you can run MSFS 2020, it will be fine!

the detailling of the plane models and the big airports seems to even be higher - but how about the poor underlying map the scenery is based on? As of Sept. of 2024 the scenery in many places leavers much to be desired. I also believe the default airplanes will be poorly modelled, as they have always been since early FS days.

@@TheAngryZebra Mate fs2020 is not 'just another sim'.. you need to change your perspective. If I'm right in assuming you're chair-bound, then these simulators are absolutely perfect. I grew up on fs98, and that was 'as real as it gets'. Think hard about that given what we have now.

It's been years since I played FS (2004 and FSX). This version seems to be very cartoonish and unrealistic on some points : for example one sequence of a plane taking-off was totally unrealistic dynamically. Is 2024 really that good and a better simulation than FSX ? Not convinced. The only positive signs I would acknowledge are more satellite data and more different activities. The rest, meh...

MSFS 40th aniversary edition I think was around 120 GB (although there have been many updates since, who knows what the actual size is now) - MSFS 2024 will be around 50 GB, so that is much more friendly. More stuff has moved to the cloud, but unless you have a complete turkey of an internet connection it should be fine, as they've made downloading of assets and planes, etc much more efficient.

But yes VR is confirmed on launch and 2020 itself already has multi screens. You can see KZbin videos of people with home cockpits that use 3 or 4 TVs

As an add-on developer, I'm starting to feel that this might turn out to be a paid update. It's strange that we still haven't heard anything about the beta access to check if our add-ons are fully compatible. They mentioned a beta release two weeks before launch, but that seems far too short for a brand new engine, even if they assured the full compatibility. Plus, the most suspicious thing of all is that the game still isn't available for pre-order, which is very unusual for a game that's coming out in just two months... I don't know...

This is not unusual. Every version of flight sim has been compatible with the at least the previous one, and in most cases, previous 2 versions. A lot of people in FSX, still used FS9 and FS8 aircraft with little to know changes to the aircraft it self. Even from FSX to P3D there was little needing change until P3Dv4. Every version has always taken the updates, patches, and improvements from the previous version and rolled them into the new sim to streamline and optimize the code. This will be no different with MSFS24, they will be taking all the updates from MSFS20, and rolling them into MSFS24 while adding all the new bells and whistles of the new one. People seem to not know that this is not out of the ordinary for the series and has been like this for the last 40years with a new version coming out almost every 2-3 years until FSX where they just stopped and tried with MS Flight(which should have been the base code for MSFS20) which failed because they marketed it completely wrong despite being a vastly superior simulation to FSX and P3D, they got greedy and tried to nickle and dime for every part of the world, and the community responded quickly and decisively with their wallets, and MS killed Flight in about 6months.

My friend has a 10 year old pc and mine is 3 year old. His runs msfs better than mine. All on ultra setting as he gets 700mbps Internet. I can barely push medium settings as u get 14mbps. It's all about the Internet I think when it comes to msfs 20/24.

They are the developers, they are doing all the work to build the franchise and it's an incredible investment of time and resources. I was incredibly happy to see MSFS 2020 come about and seeing comments like this quite frankly make me a little sick. There are feedback loops and the wishlist is completely driven by the community.

First of all this is a game as a service. It's very likely because of the online aspect, this will require some form of hotfixing. Even offline games like Outlaws had day 0 patch. I don't really see the issue here. It will be maintained and patched throughout it's lifecycle.
