I'm still with Machinima with my ScrewattackEurope account and Machinima do these offers all the time, so it's not as thrilling as it seems. Also they're offering a whopping $1 more per 1000 views with this deal (so a total of $3 per 1000 views) So it's not even worth my time with my new contract. Really shitty incentive. But I could tell you a ton of all the shitty backdealings Machinima has done over the years that no one knows about.

Anyone remember Machinimas comparison video a couple of weeks back about PS4 & Xbox One? They literally favored the Xbone in every category. I found it strange how they were 'marginal winners' in every category in Machinimas eyes. This would probably explain it.

Do people honestly think this doesn't happen with other companies/products/anything ever that has to do with promotion and advertising? Tons of gaming companies have gone to KZbinrs to promote their games and products. Sony has done this and hell even Nintendo did this when they asked the Runaway Guys to promote some of their games. Anyone who thinks this stuff never happens in ANY industry is clearly delusional. For those of who are curious how promotional contracts work this is how (Polaris has sent me these before as well as to their partners). A company asks Polaris to promote their game or product. Polaris then goes to the KZbinrs to promote their game or product through separate contracts that pay you more. Depending on how many views you get and how many videos you make you earn additional payments from these companies through Polaris or other MCNs you happen to be partnered with. You may also receive free copies to give away, merchandise from the company, etc. I personally haven't taken any of these contracts because they were all from games and products I hate and honestly if I actually like a game they were asking me to promote I wouldn't need a contract to promote it I'd just make videos on it like I do with all the games I enjoy. These contracts have been from Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Capcom, Activision, etc they all do it and it is implied that you don't talk negatively about the product not just right out in the open like this one is. Microsoft stop being so stupid as well as you other companies it's making our heads hurt.

Why should games be exempt, but not companies consoles? I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo or Sony did go to KZbinrs to promote their products with especially how the Wii U is doing. GamingBliss Promoting is one thing, but paying someone to say nice things about your product, instead of letting people find out the the truth about it for themselves is something else entirely. From what I understand Machinima is contractually obligated to to point out all the good things about the system, meaning Microsoft is paying people to cover up all of their fuck-ups. Let's clear something up right now: Yes, other companies like Sony and Nintendo pay people to say good things, primarily reviewers and public speakers. However, what is generally NOT done, as pointed out by Alpha, is going DIRECTLY to KZbinrs and paying them to say good things. Reviewers and critics have always had their opinions altered by money, but Microsoft just tried cutting directly to their main consumer this time around because they are aware of how many people's opinions over games are affected by people like Angry Joe and Maximillian. Hell, Maximillian is the MAIN reason i got Soul Calibur 5 and Joe is the MAIN reason I didn't buy MvC3. This is the same for a lot of people. The general public of KZbinr doesn't rely on people like IGN for game reviews anymore because people like Joe and Max are just a LOT more reliable when it comes to the specifics of a game or console, but now even they could possibly be lying to us at one point in the future. Hell, right now, Max has openly stated in several videos very subtly about how he was unable to say certain things regarding a game or console. I didn't pay much attention to those comments until now, because it's becoming clear as to why those little comments were important. Microsoft wasn't the first to do this on a professional mdeium, sure, but they sure as hell are one of the few trying to directly influence those in a casual platform.

Exactly! I thought I will buy Wii:U, but then I read some reviews and there are only few games worth playing (and only few more are coming, because of market share of Wii:U). So I had to decide between PS4 and Xbone. Sony is having some bad times and I won't risk buying a console which will become unsupported after few years (they need money, so they will have to make new console earlier and sell it somehow). And now, Xbone is out of question too. I think I will stick to the PC, or build myself a SteamMachine.

From Boogie's Video This happens in every industry with just about every product. I mean everything from the government to Cola is influenced by money, ads, and endorsements. The Xbox One and the Ps4 are both solid consoles. Just choose which one has the games you want and that is all. If this surprises anyone, then you don't understand the world we live in. All the specs, game library, etc...are available to the public. You don't need a big youtuber or anyone else telling you what to buy. Do your research and decide for yourself. Also, if you want to listen to someone's opinions on something then find someone you can trust. There are plenty of honest reviewers out there, but they may not have a million subs. Not to say there aren't plenty of honest people with millions of subs either. You were given a brain, so use it.

Honestly, this doesn't bother me because I see this as another form of advertising. Do people get pissed off at celebrities that endorse shitty products that they don't use? It's no worse than the video game magazines selling out and their websites giving bullshit reviews because they've been paid by publishers to say nice things that are contrary to the reviewer's actual opinion. I stopped reading video game magazines and visiting their websites for news a long time ago for this very reason. It may seem like a shady practice but it's nothing companies haven't been doing for years. I'm not defending Microsoft of Machinima but this hardly seems like a surprising move but it does require one to ask where they can get an honest critique of a game before they make a purchase. So, no real opinion from me but it goes beyond what's going on with KZbin. It's everywhere.

Stuff like this and the nickle and diming of console gamers across the globe to gain access to content that should have already been available on day one is the primary reason why I play older and already established PC games (TF2/L4D2) and my consoles are only there for media entertainment or purchase of much older games(Wii console/PSOne classics). It says "You agree to keep confidential at all times all matters RELATING to this Agreement" RELATING in this context is to be used as DESCRIBE. You are not allowed to DESCRIBE the agreement, the requirements, nor the pay. I'm am amazed that not one person(that Iv seen at least) talking about this knows how to read a contract.? However if you guys want to complain about endorsements in general well that's fine, but Machinima and Microsoft didn't actually do anything illegal unless they paid somebody who didn't comply with the FTC's regs or they didn't pay somebody who did comply with the FTC's regs.

Actually in contract law basically if the contract is for you to do something illegal that voids the actual contract. And shit yeah its illegal to review any item and not disclose that you were compensated for a good review. I love how MS blamed it all on Mach lol... all of them are scums.

This is nonsense! I mean if you are going to sell something to someone, if I was trying to sell something to someone, it is my responsibility to tell them what you you can or can't do with such item.
