Thanks, I wanted confirmation that I could just invite a distribution list of over 300 people instead of adding them one by one without having to actually test it. It will at least be a plan B if they decide not to go with a live event for their meeting... That was helpful :)

I've been eagerly awaiting this update, and I think it's arrived in our tenant, but there's a catch: the Group/Team needs to be visible in the Global Address List. We're an EDU tenant and three of the four types of Teams we can create are - by default - hidden from Outlook and the GAL. I'm not sure the behavior is the same in other types of tenants, so maybe this only impacts us EDUs. Still, it's a pain. Of course, a global or Exchange admin can toggle the appropriate property on the mailbox, but making it visible in the GAL only creates more confusion because then people email the group, but nobody is actively watching that mailbox (because they're communicating through Teams).

Many thanks for this. What I really want to know is if I have a Teams Site (eg Course Directors Teams site) and I want to invite everyone in that Teams site to a channel meeting (eg.Access and Participation meeting) how do i do that? I can scheduled the meeting in the channel but I can't seem to invite everyone from that Teams site, I have 150+ people in that teams site so i don't want to do it person by person, I want to invite the whole Teams group to the channel meeting.

Thanks for this, I was having trouble setting it up and I definitely think its one of Microsoft's limitations. At least I know that I am on the right track. Thank you

Thanks for sharing Matt... it appears better to schedule the Meeting via outlook? What are any drawbacks to schedule meeting with Outlook.

Thank you! I wonder how we can check the individuals' (under the distribution list) response from the tracking section as when I expanded the list, responses are all none.

why do they show up as optional once accepted? That's confusing. Do you have a video of how to create an invite and send to your entire MS team (without adding each individual email) such that it generates an outlook message/invite triggering the person to accept or not?

Anybody know why Teams allows you call a meeting with a distribution list, but not send a Teams chat to one like Skype for Business allowed you to? Seems missing functionality?

Thank you very much . I have a question. I need to invite two separate teams to an online meeting. Now , I know how. My question is which channel would I use then, one of the teams channel or a separate new team channel? And if I used a third different team channel , in this case can members of the 2teams see my shared material or use the chat bar?
@CollaborationCoach4 жыл бұрын
You can invite two separate teams to a meeting, and you don't need to create a new channel to do that. The attendees from both Teams will be able to chat and share files through chat.

Have you experienced only internal members being added and not external members from an outlook group?

Great video. Thanks for keeping us updated on new Microsoft Teams features! I tried inviting a group to a meeting and only my old groups appear as choices. When I create a new group and immediately try to invite it to a meeting, it doesn't show up as an option in the Add required attendees field - even after I wait for 30 or so minutes after creating the group. I wonder if you have encountered this? It seems that if I send an email to the new group, the group will then appear as an option. Not sure if that makes sense or if it was a coincidence that the group was then available to invite?

Great that I can now use Outlook lists in Teams! For some reason, I have named my Outlook lists by groupXXX. Perhaps I should have named them listXXX... Two questions: 1. I'm co-managing a Team with someone in another company -- the other company runs the Team; I'm a Guest. Question: Is there a way we can *share* lists/teams? [I guess my Outlook lists (groupXXX for now) are private to me. What about the Teams groups? Are they global groups in Teams, or do they belong to specific teams?] 2. Can I use Outlook lists (and Teams groups) when I invite members to a *new* Team? [Suppose I have two Outlook lists, listRnDGroup and listMScStudents. I then want to create a Teams team for RnD seminars, and I want to invite members from both lists...]

1. Each Microsoft 365 group can only be attached to one Team. You can invite Guests from outside of your organisation to your Microsoft 365 group, so they have access to your Team. 2. No - List membership cannot give you access to a Team. We only use Lists in this context to invite people to meetings.
@tamurlanekhan3 жыл бұрын
not helpful you have chosen only the basic requirement - you have not addressed creating a team and then setting a meeting for that team where some members are outside the organisation - this would be the case in a project
