I remember my first computer, a big desktop running Windows 98, or maybe it was XP? I'm willing to bet it was 98. Then my second one, a very small netbook with no touchpad, only a small 'joystick' nub in the middle of the keyboard, running Windows 95. And now we have Windows 8. Oh, technology, will you never cease to amaze us?

They had a concept one that was started then quickly dismissed. Microsoft knew it didn't fit their image and standard for a OS and it felt very odd. It was the Windows Works Edition. Apparently having the computer start and actually do something useful and do what you wanted it to interfered with the Windows experience which consists of when powered on it should get the same amount of work done, or less but not more, as if it were powered off.
@THEMINECRFATDUDE12 жыл бұрын
4:13 windows Chicago was a test version of windows 95. Just thought you would like to know that. 7:33 Windows Neptune was a starter for windows xp which would soon become the most widely used os system in the entire world for more than 9 years. 7:49 Windows Whistler was another starter for windows xp. 9:12 Windows longhorn was a starter for windows vista but it failed at its job which was to let Microsoft find errors in the os system which didnt work out to well.
