Hi ruby, the idea of cross reference is to Refer things to other parts of your document. So for e.g. if I have added Style Heading 1 or 2 on page 1 to certain headings (or a Bookmark), I can go to Page 10 and add a Cross Reference to that heading (or bookmart) that is page 1. So people can hold the Ctrl button and click on that Cross Reference. You can use Cross Reference with Bookmarks, Footnotes etc. Hope this helps. thanks for all your comments.

I have never used Adobe for graphics etc, it is on my to do list. Had learnt AutoCad and made a mistake by not making a video. Will try to get back to learning new things, been busy with family.

Hi, you will need to add a "Continuous" or "Next Page" break (Pag Layout - Break). This way when you Double Click on the Header, you will be able to Turn the button "Same as Previous" off so whatever you type in this header does not affect the previous. Hope this helps.

Hi Gina, so you have a document with a Header and trying to create a Mail Merge for Email messages. This might be a problem as Email messages cannot have a Header. In Mail Merge if you choose to create Letters, the Headers will stay. Hope I understood your question correctly. Let me know.

Hi Amir: First of all thank you for your tutorials. I am having an issue with my header being moved out of place when I select the mailings then select mail merge. Once I select the step by step merge wizard I then select the e-mail messages in the select document type and that is when my letter looks all funky. Can you tell my why it does this? +funkyblanket15 here is another way to look at it, say you are on chapter 10 and mention a Passage or a chart from chapter 6, you can add a bookmark to that section in Chatper 6. And insert this bookmark on the Chapter 10 line, so people can click the link and see the chart or passage. Let me know if this helps.

I ended up using text boxes, copied them many times then I linked each box to the box beneath it.300 Links...wow columns should let you format easier.Thanks for your help anyway

Hi Amir, I have a header and footer filled with pictures that I simply dragged into desired positions and the page break procedure seems not work on those - after inserting the page break, the images still appear on the next page. Any ideas? ;(

Found it - (click header/footer) go to Tab: Design/Header & Footer tools/Link to previous [unmark] ;D

on a similar note. I want to create a translation doc with two column or "word boxes"on each page.(colums seem impossible cause the text jumps from left column to right...) On Left side is German,right side of page is English translation.I cannot figure this formatting out to just continue each page with my original header and page number on bottom. Im not a word expert- THANX for any help Glenn

Hi Glenn, if you split your documents in 2 column, you can control the Column breaks. In Page Layout - Breaks look for "Column Break" using this you will be able to control the columns. Have you German text first and after that add the English text, now add the 2 column to the whole document. And now put your cursor at the end of your German text and Insert the Column break. Let me know.

Hey, why the header is so cloudy ? How can I make a clear header. Suppose I want the picture in the header look clear and not cloudy. What should I do ?

+Sunil Sarkar If you look at the Print Preview the the images in header will look normal. When editing the document, the contents of Header will look cloudy. And also double click on the Header and you will see that the image is not cloudy, only when you close the header, they will look cloudy.

Hi, you will need to create a Macro and use it to Print it. I don't know how to create it, but found one online. +Elton Kimes I believe I mentioned about Page Break in this video, Continuous or Next page. Usually headers are repeated, as all the pages are considered 1 big section. By adding Continous or Next page breaks at the end of a page, you get the option to "Not repeat the header" so you break the repeat. Now go to the next page and , in the Headert/Footer Tools you will see the option "Link to previous," turn this option off, now can change the header on this page. Hope this helps.

Maybe someone can help me? I'm going out of my fricki'n mind! All of a sudden I cannot copy and past in the comment box! I can type but not copy an paste! I allowed youtube to receive third party, still does not work! I am using IE 9 I don't think my word program matters because I can paste it everywhere else but in the youtube comment box! +Amir Parmar Nope, Just saved text to Notepad and M Word. Could not copy/past either. Will paste to google search box, yahoo email compose even in the youtube search box! Everywhere But in the youtube comment box!

gremmiehodad So you can copy/paste everywhere except for KZbin comment box. Try installing Google Chrome and use it, see what happens

+Amir Parmar This worked! Thank you so much! Kind of a pain to have to use it every time I'm on youtube especially when I have favorites on IE and it's much more easier to navigate. So, I will have to have both open and just use Chrome for pasting comments but hey at least it works!

You can import your bookmarks from IE to Chrome, click on the Settings button (Top/Right) point to Bookmarks - Import. Can you upgrade IE9 ti IE10? That might solve the issue also.
