Steps to fix your device.
1. Remove the bottom cover
2. Unscrew main body screws
3. Remove the top cover
4. Unscrew the wifi card
5. Remove the wifi card
6. Install new wifi card
7. Screw-in wifi card
8. Put the unit back together
9. Get back to Gaming

For those here wondering how to tell if your wifi card is faulty: You’ll experience frequent controller disconnects that will progressively get worse and frequent wifi disconnects where you have to completely unplug your Xbox and start it back up just to get back on and have it disconnect a few mins later. Swapping the card solved those issues for me. I grabbed a card off Amazon for $10 - it was the exact same card as the one Microsoft puts in the Xbox One S. The card I bought from Amazon seemed used and dirty - I’m assuming the pull them off old consoles to resell, but they work.

This is a great guide. Only thing I can add is that when taking out the green screws I had to buy a CR-VT10 drill/screw bit. I think they're also called TR10s. I didn't have the right screwdriver size becore

Should I do this if my console still works but I get lag spikes every 10 minutes? My wifi is good I even upgraded to better Wi-Fi to be sure.

I do not think the two wifi cards are interchangeable.

I’m having issues with my Xbox, long story short it connects to the internet but I get an error message saying one of two things: cannot connect with a static IP address or DNS isn’t resolving Xbox server names. I can’t run an Ethernet cable to my room. I’ve tried everything from off and on again to restoring the Xbox to default and I still get the same thing. Is it worth trying to replace the WI-FI card???

Make sure your NAT type is open. This is a setting you can set up in your console settings.

Mines does the same, the xbox runs brand new still only problem is it connects to the wifi then like 5 min later it disconnects and keeps on doing that

@@Joesge I figured it out. For some reason I had the Xbox IP paused in my router. Soon as I unpaused it worked

@@Joesge My Xbox is struggling to connect wireless and after hours of a trouble shooting Microsoft suggested a replacement WiFi card. Thanks for the guide. I was apprehensive about changing myself but it was a breeze. However even with a new card my Xbox still won't connect. 🤔. I've done a factory reset and on start up it does connect and download my profiles but then won't stay connected. Says cant connect to DCHP server. Any suggestions gratefully received ?
