That seems to be a common issue. I have to say that new stuff seems to hold up and sharpen better than old. Purely anecdotal however

My collection is very limited as I prefer US made knives (so I have lots of Chris Reeve, Medford and a ton of Microtech). I think this Stitch at least for me, may be the best $300 knife you can get today and the auto may be the best $400 knife. I really appreciate what Microtech is doing with all of their knives - titanium clips on the OTF’s, the new dual fuel system, some screw less designs, torx, Ti pocket clips and especially this new finish… I added natural clear pieces to my collection like the Hera II, Combat Troodon, the Interceptor blade Troodon, Cypher II, this Stitch, the LUDT - this level of pricing, upgraded materials, variety, finishes and action tell me Microtech is really trying and I love it!

I got the same model except partially serrated. Does your ram lok lever feel a little sharp or rough ?

Rough? No. It's not frictionless and there are some parts that need to overcome spring tension at steeper angles. I think it continues to break in

Username EDCandLace commented: Out of the stitch and msi I had and sold the following day because of both having HRCs in the 58s and sharpening about 50 of them in the last 3 months... they are SOFT, it's soft enough that it is noticeably gummy on the stones. Plus the action on both of them is mushy as hell. I received both of mine in the same day, had them poked later that day and sold the next morning lol. If you buy a knife to use and expect serviceable edge retention then you will not be happy.

That's definitely not great. They have a history of running soft steel

@@chucknunface indeed they have always been soft. The maximum that's ever been tested is 60rc in the past and that is rare to see. Often it will be 58-59. All of the m390Mk has all been between 57 and 59, nothing at 60.

Awesome knife, I like the natural aluminum they’re doing. The have Socom elites like this too that look amazing. I dig NC blade tho, maybe something did come up, I have ordered from them before and it went smooth.. pretty sure they sent me candy too lol… idk but good vid bro

I wish this stich ram lok came with the same pocket clip as the amphibian. The bent steel clip is absolutely garbage. I might try the LynchNW clip out , and see if it goes in / out of pocket easier without fighting me , lol 😅

I agree...I tried to rationalize it but I'm lying to myself. I ordered a LynchNW, will update. The screws sitting so proud may still be an issue

I have the Amphibian and have had trouble getting it in and out of a couple of my pants because the clip is so stiff.

@@chucknunface unfortunately that is not the case. Emerson uses 154 steel class, uses thick geometry for hard use and uses a heat treatment, that while soft isn't Garbo soft. They are catering to a use case. They are by design.
