Try the subreddit r/knife_swap Excellent place to sell knife secondary market. Youll have to drop the price like 10% per the sub rules because it is secondary market. But if you did that id probably even buy jt

@@justinhorn2864 That may be the case but this is not a normal production run this is a limited edition made specifically for blade show West 2019. You can't just go order one of these knives the only way you could have gotten 1 was to buy it having attend blade show West and pick it up in person that's the reason it's got the value that it has.

I just got the utx 70 this morning in the mail... Fu***** awesome! Its small but realistic to carry daily. If you like to travel light, this is it. serves the purpose for the daily things I do, cutting a piece of rope or opening an envelope, why would you load you pocket with more then you need. It's super cool, I'm glad I bought it. I have a bunch of knives and this will be my daily carry. The added bonus with this is that we are supporting American products

Make sure ur pockets are clean, I had some debris jam the action on my utx 70. Had to take it apart to fix it

Just dropped 415 on a half serrated half plain blade utx-85. I was on the fence, after seeing the good review I pulled the trigger. My state just passed constitutional carry, so I can legally carry one of these now.

I really preferred the 85 to a ultratech. Perfect pocket knife size for me

Just took possession of a UTX-85 in distressed red with D/E blade. I was shocked at how INexpensive it was at just $237 before tax! All one need do is see the inside of a MT and those massive blade locks with precision fitment, then view the various torture tests to know the knife is indeed worth the money. Sure, you can probably fabricate a set of oversized blade locks for a Lightning and get a few more hammer blows out of it, but the MT is ready to go as is. Something not often mentioned is how small the Ultratech series are for the amount of blade they deploy. The UTX-85 is just 4.1" long not including glass breaker and projects a razor sharp 3.1" blade! The knives are also amazingly light, yet strong thanks to the anodized aluminum combined with oversize steel screws. Like most people I own a few MT replica knives that have the "look" but lacking in build toughness.

my only complaint with my UTX-85 is the pocket clip, they should put the Trodden clip on the UT's.

So, I live in NJ. I own many knives, and carry 1-2 daily. I am SO tempted to buy this thing. It meets all my criteria; RED (fav color), Microtech (USA baby), OTF (fidgety), and the size is perfect for my hand. I'm tempted to pick it up regardless. NJ knife laws require a "lawful purpose", not including self defense, which is not why I carry a knife to begin with, its a tool, that I could use to defend myself. I am mechanical engineer and I use a knife daily for opening boxes and working on my personal cars etc. task around the house. Any opinions? I mean, I'm already carrying 2 folders, whats the difference? I don't tend to break the law for it to really be a problem. Also, not getting a dagger.

If you get an otf and in NJ probably don’t carry, just keep at home, at least in NY you have Hunting/Fishing, you can have otfs

Not legal in Washington. They say it is too dangerous. Sort of ironic because the state of Washington allows me to conceal a all sorts of firearms. But for some reason, an autoknife crosses the line. However, I do have one - a Boker in XHP - that I keep in Arizona so that I can enjoy it when I visit family. I would like to get an Ultratech at some point - either in Blue or Copper with a black blade.

Don’t get me started on California knife laws. I’m a Cali native born and raised but now live in the mid west. People there in California use knives as weapons not tools and that’s why the laws are so dam strict, yet cold steel, a brand known for large hard use knives hails out of SoCal. You can buy them but it’s against the law to carry them which makes no sense to me. Money knows no boundaries I guess. Anyways, let me get off my soap box because I could rant for days. I’ve been a knife and tool guy since I was a kid and luv that I can carry all kinds now because of where I live. Thanks for the review MC. Happy New Years Day. Till the next one.

The company he is talking about, I think, has a karambit style otf that reaches $400 with that classy 440c play dough steel can get this utx-85 for close to half that if you look hard enough.

You can own switch blades in California you just can't carry them 2 inches are smaller that's legal but you can own them you just can't carry them

One thing that I think Microtech should do is make OTFs with a cheaper steel like 154cm or S30V. This would drop the price and appeal to more people who don’t want to spend all of that money. Great Video 👍

Cali knife laws make no sense. I can own any switchblade, balisong, otf, etc..but I can't carry it...though I'm working on getting my first microtech, I have to go out of state.
