Dr. You said that Microtia can has Spinal Anomalies as well. What did you mean by this? I'm a 37 year old woman with a Stage 2 left ear Microtia and Atresia. However Ive had spinal pain issues since I was a child. Im told its just wear and tear from age. Im not a heavy person, however nor am I an active person either....I was asking my doctor about this very thing. What, besides my ear could have gone wrong within my mother womb?? As I've had issues throughout my childhood.

Some of my patients with Microtia Atresia also have spinal anomalies due to associated syndromes or conditions. You should talk with your primary doctor about any concerns you may have. Please rest assured that the mother did not do anything to cause Microtia. Take care.
