Prof.Firmins technique is akin to Prof.Nagatas 2 stage technique. Few subtle differences are: 1. Surgery at 9-10 years 2. Harvest of 6,7,8 ribs 3. Antihelix from base block (9th rib used IF needed) 4. The method of elevation of framework is different..with a TUNNEL technique to hold the pieces of cartilage for projection and coverage of posterior surface of framework by skin graft only without a flap.
