How come the trim kit costs more than the microwave oven?

There should be a website available that tells us what trim kit fits a specific model, so we can plan what options we can select. It is a pain to research everything, and finally find one that the wife might possibly be happy with, only to realize that there is no trim kit that fits that model, and have to start all over. This process takes months to please her, so develop that website so us poor old guys do not have to stress over what should be a simple process.

Everything was sounding good until you said you can't reuse them. A trim kit is just a surround, as long as the hole is big enough any kit will do. All depends on how fussy you are on the look and how willing you are to make minor adjustments

Ummmmm....if you own a power drill with a metal drill bit it takes about 3 min to convert an old trim kit to fit a new one...usually

Sorry you are lying. If you have proper ventilation, and you like the way it looks, you are all set. You stated there are multiple reasons why you have to use the exact model trim kit, yet you stated none.

You didn't watch the entire video. It states that the trim kit opening must perfectly match the face of the microwave. Also, the legs must be spaced to fit the leg holes. The chances your existing microwave is perfect for this are slim to none.

@@biznor3 If the legs don't align with the rails you can simply reposition the rails and drill new holes, then reattach the rails to the cabinet floor with screws as needed. As long as the opening is the same size as the microwave, you can definitely make adjustments and minor modifications to make it work and save $250-$300.
