Bibleman TV Series - 1995
Bibleman is an American Christian-themed direct-to-video children's series created by Tony Salerno that ran from 1995 to 2010. The series centers around an evangelical superhero who fights evil, often by quoting scripture, and sometimes breaks the fourth wall.

While under the spell of the sinister Shadow of Doubt, Kayla begins to doubt God's interests in her problems. And when Bibleman and his trusted friend Coats come to her aid, the cunning Shadow targets Bibleman as his next victim. Both Bibleman and Kayla learn a lesson in relying on the truths in God's Word.

I kid you not, when I was five my Christian Kindergarten class played a Bibleman tape. I don't remember much about it other than they put a bunch of evil bugs inside Bibleman and he was grunting and groaning in pain, and it scared me so badly that the teacher had to help move me out of the room because I was screaming and crying in terror.

I love the fact that Bibleman is a self insert character in the first season cuz the guy who plays Bibleman wrote and directed it, so he constantly makes meta jokes about it. But then, the show kinda fell apart in the 2nd and 3rd season when it had different writers entirely. It is a great exploration about ego as for sure xD

As a Christian myself and I have the DVD adventure series (Not the powersource thank goodness) I can confirm that the show had promise but it is very bad because of the messaging. My first Bibleman was "the incredible force of joy" and it was decent but I think the message they tried to send was that it is easy to allow sorrow to consume our joy from following God. While those emotions are part of humanity, being consumed by the wrong things can effect our mindset and focus. I believe that was the message that they tried to send.
