This has to be the most impressive Windows tweak tool I have seen in my 25+ years of being in the IT industry. It has EVERYTHING under one hood. It's not for the average user, but the average user isn't trying to squeeze every bit of performance out of Windows. People that write code never cease to amaze me.

I highly recommend making it customizable like the ability to modify the microwinscratch folder before building the ISO as advanced feature for those who want there files in the ISO already... Also adding more options other then defender and edge will be neat too!

I found myself doing this during testing a lot. I'll make sure to add this checkbox. There is a cleanup subroutine that can be removed if you want to do that, but I'll make it easier in the future.

Amazing work. It's lovely. I suggest including some tool to add all user files. Like: photos, music, documents or separate folders. In order to add all this to the iso That would be something pretty cool.

What transfer protocol do u use instead of smb? It looks like its NFS, but i thought that NFS isnt much faster than SMB with files over 500mb.

Also the Export feature only exports the current selected tab instead of exporting all selected options across all tabs. Is it possible to fix that issue so that you only have to export 1 time instead of multiple times?

It will be interesting to see, what changes Microsoft has to do to Windows, now that the EU has passed several laws about user tracking. Not sure what it will be called, but someone flashed the "Windows EU" instead of the better known Windows N we have had thus far. If I remember correctly, in the EEA (European Economic Area) microsoft has to allow easy removal of their bloatware apps, including OneDrive, Cortana and most likely Copilot. I truly hope you do a video of it, when more information is available.

Light theme has some issues, like the white text on a glowing bright cyan color. Dont drop the light theme because I need it for my astigmatism. My eyes hurt from looking at dark themes and after around 10 minutes I develop a headache from the eyestrain

I would like to see option to add my own autounattend.xml file. You could already put it in C:/microwin during the process and it will pack it into the iso. But the GUI option would be great too

Hey Chris, I don't know where to say this properly but I hope that you read my comment. Yesterday I was just fresh installing win11 and used your script. But application installations weren't working. It might be about a winget bug and completely irrelevant to your program but can you look up for it? Btw your script is my second thing after fresh install from start (after update the system of course), thanks

Regarding group policy, I think they are going to depricate it. If you go back and compare the things you could do in Win7,8 and server 2008/2012, you'll see a lot. Lately as I search for things, I'm finding the server 2019/2022 and win 10/11 have cepricated a bunch of stuff in preferrence for Intune. Things like bluetooth profiles and some wifi functions that I wanted to adjust/disable and some new desktops. My fix was disable both in the bios which limits using headphones over bluetooth (which I wanted). As the OS progresses, I'm betting that fewer options will be present in GPO in favor of pushing another paid item with Intune. With remote workers this makes sense, but not onprem workers. Printer selections was another that I recently encountered was not in GPO, but available in Intune.

One question.. when building the de-bloated iso does it matter which computer it is built on using this tool? For example I have a new windows 11 computer on order but I want to create a windows 11 iso beforehand on my old windows 10 laptop.

Could you make the ISO link in the MicroWin tab an actual hyperlink so that it launches the website or at the very least make it so that it can be copied from the tab itself? Also is it possible to add in a prompt for adding in the Windows CD Key so that that after setup Windows is already activated?

Love your tool, Chris. Great new update as well. I tried the microwin.iso while leaving edge and defender but after a clean install every time I open explorer and try to open a drive, explorer locks up. I had to load up a system backup as it was not usable. Anyone else having this issue?

i tested microwin, windows FR 23H2, after installation, impossible to connect to the microsoft store.

so i tried testing the iso in vmware, and for some reason, there is no way to get the network to work. If i go in the devices manager, the main network controller has a yellow triangle and since the whole vm is cut-off from the internet, i cant get it to work. Second issue is the file explorer will freeze when tying to access c:. So far idk if i would install it on bare metal. i dont imagine the experience to be much better if a vm cannot run it properly

First start the utility, go to "Config" tab and click "WinGet Reinstall", and then try reinstalling your programs.

How about a Link in your videos to your tool kit...And is it user friendly ? Have you heard that Macrium is quitting their free version come Jan,1 2024 which I was using to do Backups. Can you recommend something easy for people like me to use as I'm on SSI and can't afford much. I tried the OO program but it disabled being able to use Discord which I need to keep in contact with my friends. And I even rolled it back and reinstalled Discord and it still locks me out of Discord. I can talk but can't upload any thing or access my friends list. I played around with Linux in the past now the command line is way to much for me anymore. Being as I'm a AAA gamer setting them up in Linux has gotten way to much for me at my age. On the latest Win 10 pro of windows but hate all the anti privacy problems that " Microadware OS " is doing now days. Though have been waiting for Steam OS to mature and thinking of trying it out. Any help would be appreciated. keep us up to speed on it please. Seems YT unsubscribe me, just noticed it and resubscribed. probably why I haven't seen any of your Vid's come up in a while. I hate games like Candy crush just so much bloat.
