I’m waiting to see if you guys are going to come out with your own pressure sensor. I’ve been meaning to make one, and or buy one, but would be really excited to test a Micsig pressure sensor. I have the Micsig as well. The Linux system will capture photos and capture in movie mode. The Micsig can transfer all photos and movies to the PC. The Micsig can also connect via Android to control the Micsig remotely. The Android of course will record itself on the screen. Many Oscilloscope companies offer waveform patterns and use them consistently while saving / naming my work. Some extra tools were hand made for Secondary ignition, Vibration and Vacuum / Pressure testing. Using tBook Mini ATO1104 Additional: Will also connect to the PC and iOS phone for remote use.

Hello VashthStampeede, good to hear from you. Yea, that would be pretty cool. I wouldn’t hold your breath though. Other than a small comment on this video, I haven’t heard from them in a while. I started making videos of other things, and then hadn’t really heard from them. Don’t get me wrong, I still love using my Micsig, just wanted to show some other things. I don't know if you are still seeing comments on your year old videos, but I hope you are in good health. I see Micsig has a new scope out. Definitely a cross between the two you have and with better performance. It took them a couple of years to incorporate the best of both scopes, but it looks like a sensible upgrade.

Hey Atom, i recently bought a micsig myself thanks to your videos displaying it's capability. I have been a bit chicken to use it with ignition and injectors(except with amp clamps) due to voltage spikes that i heard can damage the scope. I recently bought an attenuator to use to prevent this but haven't began using it yet. I was hoping u may be able to provide some advice, based on ur experience with the micsig, about the attenuator modes on the scope in relation to them being used with an attenuator that steps down the voltage. I am not even sure if i need one if the scope has modes. Thanks for your videos and your contribution to the sharing of technical information in the automotive field that collectively has helped many become better technicians.

Hello Mike Maskell, and thank you for the kind words, they really go a long way, and motivate me to make more videos. As to your concern. The Micsig can take in up to 300 volts safely. With that said, I have used it on injectors with no attenuator, without a problem. However, just to be safe, you may want to use the attenuators, or the 10X probes that came with the scope. As for the ignition, I would say use the 10X probes or attenuators. I usually look at the secondary with a COP probe (if they are COP’s). I know this may not be the best answer. The last thing I want is for you to smoke your scope. With that said it’s probably best to use either attenuators or the 10X probes that came with it. Just make sure that you go into the channel menu and set 10X for the probes; or whatever size attenuator you use (ex. 10X or 20X). I hope this helps. Thanks again for the kind words my friend.

Great video, but I have a question: the Micsig ATO 1104 is capable to record a short video file? I mean, can only do a screen shot or a real short video? Thank you for the answer, Now I use a Rigol 1054, but I will change it with this one, battery and preset automotive wave form is really a good plus. Greetings from Italy.

Hello Andrea. Yes, the ATO1104 will record videos of the entire screen, that you can watch later, and save to a computer, should you want to. Also, you can save waveforms as well. Wow, Italy 🇮🇹. My grandfather came from Sicily to the states in the late 1940’s. Anyway, thanks for the question Andrea. If you have any more, you know where to find me. I think you’ll be happy with the ATO. From what I’ve seen, I believe it’s the best option in that price range. Take care.

Atom thank you for sharing. Can you zoom in on individual channels say ignition and get a good ignition waveform? I believe in this video you were using ignition as a sync correct me if I’m wrong. Maybe you could do a video on ignition waveforms and possibly current ramping. Can you hook up an amp clamp to the scope? Thanks again I’ll keep watching your channel for updates. Yes you can connect amp clamps. I believe I have a video or two on ignition waveforms. When you zoom in the timebase, it zooms all channels. You can change, say, how many volts/amps per division, on each channel.

Hello evo evo. I have the STO1104E, and I like it for automotive because of the knobs & buttons. It’s just, the STO doesn’t have the automotive features, which are nice. With those, you basically have the option to choose, say MAF sensor, and it tells you what leads to use, and automatically sets your time base, voltage or amperage settings, your trigger, etc. with that said, sometimes I might have to make minor adjustments. Also, if I recall correctly, the ATO has more options for what automotive leads to use (that are already programmed in the scope). Such as a high or low amp clamp, pressure transducer, bnc, etc. you can use whatever leads/clamps you want with the STO, it just doesn’t have the different options in the channel menu. Under probe Type, you basically choose voltage or current, and and amount of attenuation (if you are using an attenuator or leads that are different than 1:1 ( like the 10:1 leads that come with the scope). Ideally I wish Micsig would offer an automotive upgrade to the STO. I have requested they do so, but they said for now that the ATO is their automotive scope. There are other differences as well between the ATO & STO. An example would be that the ATO uses Linux (I believe), where the STO uses android. Also differences in memory (among other things). I would suggest maybe watch my videos where I show and talk about the differences (as well as the comment section), and or go on Micsig’s website and do a little research. I find myself using the ATO for automotive more than the STO. At least when I am going on the road to diagnose a car. If I’m hear at the house, I use both, but probably the ATO more. For everything that is not automotive, I use my STO. I hope this helps if only a little, in helping you make an educated decision. Good luck my friend.

Thanks for sharing the video. Big fan of you. I will suggest you, to try operate the migsic, with a mouse and see the difference. Personally, I find it very easy, because my fingerprints has worn out from the years of working, and sometimes, I have to touch the screen few times, until it work. absolutely nothing wrong with the migsic, just my fingers....same problem with my touch screen phone ☹

Hey there Lambros Stefaneas. Thank you for the kind words. You know, that is a great idea. I remember when I first bought the Micsig, reading that I can connect a mouse. Since I didn’t have one, I guess I just forgot about it. Thanks for the advice, I’ll look into ordering one. I understand your fingertip issue. I think my wife inadvertently saved me from mine getting too bad. Years ago, she would complain of how ruff my hands were. Taking advice of my late grandfather, of “Happy Wife makes Happy Life” (after 21 years of marriage, I can confirm that, lol), I started wearing gloves all the time. Well, most of the time anyway. So now my hands aren’t completely shot, but I do, sometimes have problems with touchscreens. Thanks again for being part of the channel, and for your advice. I’ll mention the mouse in my next video. Hi, Atom. What are you using with the ground probe on the scope? Are you using a made-up extension or is the ground of sufficient length as supplied, so it can attach to chassis or battery ground?

Hello Jack. I have the grounds plugged into the break out box, that is plugged into the Data link connector (DLC).

I just bought myself an ATO1104 and was wondering if you knew how to change the units of measurement for the pressure transducer function from MPa to PSI. This is on the screen you get when you click on a channel and then click "presure". Thanks!

Hey Buddy. So I’ve been thinking about your idea. That might be kinda fun to do. It would be cool to be able to talk to my subscribers in real time. Let me look into how to do that, (when I have a little time), and I’ll see what we can do. Thanks for another good idea my friend. Let me know if there is another video, using the Micsig, that you would like me to do. Nothing with a pressure sensor though. I just don’t have one yet. I plan on making one once I have some time. I know a few people have already requested a video using something like a first look sensor. I really need to make it a point to get into that. @@atomsworkshop195 hello my friend thanks for take in consideration my ideas appreciate it , i was thinking if you can make a video showing the waves of the stepped motor and solenoid valves or maybe the waves for the alternator. i watch one of you videos i think I saw in the micsig the option to test actuators i got a bidirectional scanner and it let me do actuators test i think it would be interesting if is possible to do it with the micsig.
