Thanks for the review Mario! I have this company reaching out to me so see if i want to review the product and to be honest, from what im seeing, this is almost identical to the Topdon Phoenix Max lab scope that i already have, other than the scope having to be connected via USB to the tablet itself. Can you confirm that these scopes are basically the same? (Although i really like the actual buttons and some of those features! ) I really don't need another lab scope lol. Maybe if i accept, ill do a giveaway. But then all the rules with giveaways and the consequences of doing them wrong have always scared me away from that.

I think you meant bit depth (resolution) when you referred to the quality of the signal image at 19:30 The higher the bit depth, the more faithful the image on the scope screen is to the actual signal. My Pico 4225A has a 12-bit resolution. I tried to look up the resolution of the Micsig scopes on google, but I couldn't find that info. Thanks Mario!!!

On the older t book mini do you get weird ignition waveforms? At the end of a primary waveform I get a huge hump (peaks at 30 volts 10 to 12 ms long) It occurs after the final coil oscillations . Its not present on my Pico, ATS , Snap On Verus ect..... I tried different probes with no luck. I love it for a quick easy scope. I am a emergency power generation tech and I like to keep it on the front seat to grab a quick measurement.

@scientist1002 жыл бұрын
@@AutoDiag_ no, the stock app. What script is this that you speak of? The app is pretty much complete. The only thing that I notice is that if the sample rate is too high and 4 or more channels are used, it errors out but I learned that it is because of the sample rate of 1M.

6 hours is a longer battery life than any laptop you know? It really depends on what laptops you are looking for, but 10h+ is not uncommon. Still for a portable Osci this is way more suited than a laptop. zooming - no pinch-zoom (zooming with 2 fingers like on a phone)?

@@alexdragomirescu5084yeah running a calibration and also lowering the amount of channels on does the trick. I sold it for an ATS Escope. I have owned too many scopes and this was my least favorite. Stupid confusing exterior buttons had me constantly clicking the wrong knob. The software is bad too, and the android version was butchered no full access to settings and you can’t sideload Google Apps. Just bad experience all around. A uscope is more intuitive than this, and people know how much of a PITA the uscope can be for a beginner.
@alexdragomirescu5084 Жыл бұрын
@@minirey360 I just bought an verus edge. What a difference. That been said, the micsig is better for CAN stuff. On the ignition/injection side is a different planet. I'll have to keep the micsig because I doubt I can sell it. Most of mechanics don't even know what an oscilloscope is... so let's say it's ok as a backup scope, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Hey man, I want to thank you for your DETAILED review. I run into a lot of those "yeah, it's really good because its good" kind of reviews that just waste a guys time. THIS, was not one of those! Also, if I may...around the 13:00 min mark you were talking about the colored probes...just a thought, but anytime i've bought a 1x/10x standard probe, it's arrived with a set of (EXTREMELY FLIMSY) colored rings to mark the BNC end and the probe end whatever color you want...did your scope not come with any of them?

Pico is still king for me. But quick grab, confirming commands and things of that nature, i grab the micsig first. In cylinder, pulse sensor testing, correlation waveforms, or long time base(pico does 13 hours versus 3.8 hours from micsig) i grab the pico

Before the Automotive Industry targeted SATO1004 there was the Automotive ATO1104 without buttons and the general purpose nonAutomotive targeted STO1104 with buttons. I bought the STO because i wanted the luxury of having both Touchscreen and Buttons. It turned out to be a stupid decision because i am an auto mechanic and not having a scope with Automotive presets and menus in which you can specify automotive tests and have the machine SET ITSELF UP for the test voltage and timewise was a huge failure. Even the Help section of the Automotive guides you with Automotive tests in mind. It turned out the advantage of the buttons was nowhere near as beneficial as being able to go to a menu that says Coil Test or Cylinder Relative Compression Test Or Fuel Injector Test and clicking on it and having it tell you how to hook your leads to the car...it does everything but drive the car into the bay for you. Anyway, i bought the nonautomotive STO and now that the new SATO is out i can have both my buttons and my AUTOMOTIVE CAPABILITY in one easy to use money making diagnostic powerhouse. Of course, you can do every test on the old non automotive machine as you can on the new machine, but you have to figure out how to do the lead hookups and how to setup the triggers and the time and volts values on your own and by the time you figure out all of this crap you are already an hour in the hole and if you had the new automotive specific scope you would have diagnosed it and had the parts replaced and the car rolled out of the shop already. So i'm selling my old STO1104E-PLUS on E-Bay at a huge discount and buying my new SATO1004 tonight on Amazon and Super Mario's fantastic comparison cemented the deal. Thanks Mario!
@SuperMarioDiagnostics2 жыл бұрын
I would encourage every technician to become proficient with a scope. Then you would not be wasting anytime in hooking it up to a car. Sure it's nice to have the scope do it for you, but that shouldn't be a replacement for mastering the scope imo
