Power supplies can either be constant voltage or constant current. The >3V mode will select the constant voltage mode; the 0V mode will select the constant current mode. It is not possible to swap on the fly. The 0V mode will be limited to 120A so it is short circuit protected: put a large cable between the clips and put a current clamp around the cable and it should read 120A regardless of the cable length.

just want to make sure im understanding correctly when looking at the pulse and overlay. The diagnosis is cylinder 2 letting compression by the intake valve and causing the weak pull on the next intake pull in the firing order (in this case cyl 5)? The reason we are not saying cylinder 5 has an issue is due to already determining that cyl 2 was the problem cylinder by means of the relative compression test. So with that said, without the relative compression it would be real easy to misdiagnose and think cyl 5 is the problem cylinder if you skip relative compression altogether? im starting to get it i think...sorry im a noob and thank you for this great video!

Same issue intermittent. Sent the cluster to hamp’s speedometer repair. Still doing it. Pulled radio fuse with no change. Thinking TIPM.

I used a test light to troubleshoot no crank and no start issue. It's not ignition switch, not starter relay, and not the starter itself. I can start the car using a wire and connect pin 30 and 87 on the starter relay socket. Later I determined it's got a bad ground wire on the relay socket in the fuse box. I put a wire between a pin in starter relay and negative terminal of the battery. Now I can start my car normally with a key, not a wire. Lol.

At the end of day techs r just tryin to make money to pay there bills only everyone makes a job that is already not easy way harder that needs to be ie engineers ,parts suppliers and even at times the customer...and thats not even taking in to act the life long never ending investment on tools learning the new technology...no wonder nobody wants to work on veichles anymore

THIS WORKS!!! And it saves lots of money. We took the circuit board out of our 2013 Golf and the horseshoe shaped component had an open circuit. Identical to the one in this video. We work in a factory and brought the board to work and one of the technicians soldered it for us. He used a jumper wire and soldered it to connect with the pads to complete the circuit. Everything began to work again after calibrating the gauges and re installing the instrument cluster. Thanks so much for making this video. You are a great technician and I love your enthusiasm.

Do you all hear yourselves? A steering wheel control module. Vehicles should not and do not need to be that damn complicated and complex...if they stopped having a module for fucking everything then maybe most vehicles wouldn't cost 60k or more

On a 2015 Mercedes Benz c300 on the positive battery terminal there is a voltage regulator that controls the voltage to the starter. The connector with the 2 small wires are both stray ground. I know that’s wrong, does anybody know what controls that voltage regulator, where that signal comes from. My car won’t start, the battery is brand new, starter is new, I have a code for low voltage but no battery light on the dash

I removed the steering column on a 2015 Mercedes Benz c300 and to my surprise that model year doesn’t have one. If I’m wrong let me know bc I couldn’t find it

Good method. I prefer low temp alloy solider. It’s an extra step but it you use this method on VW clusters. You will end up lifting a pad A third of the time.

I haven't got a scanner it tells me on the dash and I think if you're not experienced at using a scanner for the codes it can cause more confusion than solutions. Just remember what you learnt about cars and eliminate the systems one by one

Hello, I noticed that the battery in my vehicle was dead, I plugged it into the charger, the vehicle does not start, central locking, alarm, everything is normal, but the vehicle does not start. When I jump in the starter, it cranks, but it still does not work. Can you help me please? 🙏🏻
