It was also a well known fact that eating too much fat and meat was bad for you.....what the hell has happened? I sometimes feel like 2012 happened, but instead od the world ending, we shifted into s different dimension. A dimension where up is down, black is white, and veggies are bad for you and meat is good, and animals don't feel pain but plants do.

I have a veganic permaculture garden here in Germany, and it's going great. I have no problem at all, even with this really wild weather the last few years. :) And yes, in Germany, doctors are encouraging of a vegan diet. I am pregnant (third trimester) and my doctor was very happy that I am vegan, and gave me three separate government packets urging women to REDUCE their animal protein consumption. Also, with all the issues surrounding climate change, even older generations here are beginning to realise the importance of switching to a plant based diet. Veganism in Germany is more accessible and acceptable than it is in the States. It's so normal. Don't let people scare you! Come to Germany, eat some tasty great vegan food, and be socially accepted. :)

Wow, I am also from Germany, I don't see the same support you are talking about :D do you live in Berlin? There it might be different. I wish I felt as supported as you do. I live in Germany as well and all I hear is "but what do you eat?", "veganism is dangerous" "where do you get your protein?", "that's not for me". I feel like people here have a very different view on diet, it's all about appeal to tradition. And the fact that the DGE gets it all wrong is not helpful either. I think if fortified foods were more common here, people wouldn't be so afraid of veganism. Oh well I'm depressed :/

I love Germany, I go to stay in Berlin every few years (I like checking in on the film museum and seeing how it’s developed). If there’s one thing I’ve noticed about the Germans is that meat is a serious part of the cuisine. I think Germans in general may struggle with veganism. Then again the young people of Berlin are the exact type of people who would be vegan.

Me I have consumed dairy and meat products my whole life. I am terribly overweight, out of shape, been fifteen years since I had sex with my wife. Thursday night I lost my position on our volunteer fire department. Because Saturday we were supposed to have our two year physical fitness exam. I didn't bother to go because usually the fire chief would just write me down as I showed up and passed. It was like that for eighteen years. The reason was my father was the chief I barely passed and failed the exams anyway. But my father retired from the department and a family friend became chief so I got away with it for a while longer. But he retired and now got a by the book chief. Since I have went to only one other meeting missed every training session. Only went on three calls and didn't do anything on them. I know that if I was vegan I would have energy, attitude, and be in the proper physical shape to do the job. But I am greedy, selfish, and want my stomach and taste buds satisfied. If I go out young I will have a full happy stomach.

You think that now. My sister thought the same thing. Did you know that you brain doubles in weight the first 2 years of your life, and that your brain is made of fat. At 17 months old her daughter started having seizures, started with a couple a week, then sometimes multiple seizures a day. She tried to tell everyone in the family it was something else, but I was there when she was with the doctor. He told her because of the lack of fat in the babies diet, her brain was not forming correctly and specifically told her that if she didn't either feed the baby a formula, breast milk, or animal milk, he would be forced to call DCF for child abuse. Neveah is 8 years old now. Unfortunately those early days of living on rice and almond milk already did the damage though. No one in our family has had ADD or diabetes, she has both. She's has also become allergic to half the veggies my sister has fed her, her entire life. I would also like to point out that my sister over the last 14 years as a vegan is not the same person she used to be. I have no idea if being vegan is good as an adult, looking at the results of it after 14 years with my sister, I would say no but maybe she's doing it wrong. But she most definitely fucked her kid up in multiple ways, even if she say's that had nothing to do with it, like I said, I was there the day the doctor gave you her the run down on how fucked up she made her kid.

@@frankp.3197 why tf did your sis not breastfeed her baby? Stupidity isn't the fault of veganism. My vegan friend breastfed her son for 2 years, and he ate lots of avocado and nuts and was by far one of the chunkiest babies I ever saw. Lots of healthy fats in his diet and my friend didn't over do it on the vegies. He's 10 now, still vegan and is thriving. He eats tons of healthy fats, legumes, whole grains, tofu and seitan and whatever vegan foods he wants without being low fat/carb and all that nonsense Just cause your sis was a nutcase and didn't even have the basic knowledge to breastfeed, that don't mean normal ppl with basic common sense are also gonna f up

@no name fool so sad you think a stupid, nutcase vegan somehow represents all vegans 🙄 fyi, a raw vegan diet isn't representative of what the actual vegan diet is. What you saw is kids raised on raw vegan diet with no protein, you haven't seen a proper vegan child who eats tons of protein and cooked food and high calories. You just seen the extreme vegan cases of malnutrition and think all vegan parents feed their kids salads and nothing else. You're wrong. And vegan breast milk isn't low quality. Animals don't provide essential nutrients to breast milk that you can't get from plants.... You don't know what you're talking about and it's obvious you're just bashing on veganism without any research cause you're mad at vegans for being controlling/rude to meat-eaters. It's ok to be mad, but don't say things that are false

@no name fool i'm a certified health caretaker (don't know how to call it in english, it's not my main language) so I studied "normal" nutrition. In all stages of live a vegan diet can be great, if you do it correctly (Not that hard, i mean there are good apps today). If a kid has diabetes it is 99,999% diabetes type 1 and this type of diabetes is caused by genes. Not by nutrition. Why i see hundreds of comments like your one and i didn't learned anything about the thousands malnourished vegan kids? There are more than 20.000 plants we can eat. While harvesting can cause collateral damage, the animals living in fields actually adapt to it and learn to get out of the way (and take their babies with them) when they hear machinery. They also eventually learn what time of the year the machines will pass and prepare in advance. Basically field animals (as well as prey that are being hunted down in nature) have a chance of getting away and survive, farmed animals do not

One of your comments really hit home for me when you were discussing the former vegans who stopped being vegan because of their meat-eating boyfriends. I was pesco-vegetarian, eating fish maybe once a week, but consuming a diet that was approx. 85-90% vegan. I was slim and healthy with a cholesterol level around 160. At 47 years of age, I was 5'2" and around 120 lbs. Within three years of getting together with my meat-eating boyfriend and eating animal flesh about 3 times a week, I had gained 30 pounds and my cholesterol was over 200 for the first time in my life. I had much more body pain. I was used to feeling and looking much younger than my age, but that totally changed. My boyfriend actually apologized for ruining my health. I found nutritionfacts.org and your site, and decided it was time to reclaim my life. I have now been eating a whole-food, plant-based diet for two weeks. (My boyfriend is trying to do the same, but sneaks in the non-vegan food during the day at work.) Happily, I have started losing weight and I anticipate getting back to my former good health (or being even healthier as I am no longer including dairy, eggs, fish, or seafood in my diet.) Thank you for making your videos - they are very inspirational! You are creating positive change in the world!

I don’t know if it’s the case with this guy, I expect it is, so those people need to hear the truth, so as tedious as it is to have to intelligently challenge these people, it needs to be done, even if only for those who watch the misinformation and believe cos it suits them not having to change!. What I find is these deniers are often very slippery and as soon as you prove them wrong they slip onto some other equally irritatingly absurd ‘argument’. Without even acknowledging let alone conceding the last point, so now I’m strict with these people I tell them straight, i won’t move onto another ‘point’ till the last one has been acknowledged and or conceded to. The problem with the idea of a fully pasture-raised cow is the fact that it doesn't make economic sense for the sheer amount of cattle that are slaughtered each year. The idea that the CAFOs would be no longer be needed doesn't make economic sense. One source states that cattle spend about 70% of their time in the pasture and then go to CAFOs to shorten the time to slaughter by fattening them up on a grain-based diet. Going fully pasture-raised isn't doable in the current economic climate. www.drovers.com/article/summing-grass-versus-grain Even the cattle industry realizes the limitations, not only economically but in land mass if cows were to be completely pasture-raised. "What changes in the U.S. do you think will have to be made for majority of cattle to be raised on pasture? Drovers CattleNetwork If large numbers of consumers demonstrate a preference for grass-finished beef, and a willingness to pay enough to make production profitable, producers will adapt. However, for that to happen on a large scale, we would need to convert a large amount of land from other uses to grazing land to produce adequate forage for finishing the majority of cattle. According to calculations from Dr. Jude Capper in a study published in the journal Animals, if the total U.S. beef produced in 2010 was produced by a grass-fed system, the increase in land required compared to conventional production would be equivalent to 75% the land area of Texas. Without an expansion of available grazing land, a large shift toward grass-finished cattle would result in a dramatic reduction in overall U.S. beef production and significantly higher beef prices for consumers." Kruger's ideas are not sustainable economically and not sustainable in terms of land use. It seems noble to think that a fully pasture-raised cow is a better option but it's just not feasible.

Aside from the mountain of scientific wrongness, what is most absurd is the "vegans are smug" thing. Smugness is not quantifiable, LDL is! Seriously I don't care if people are smug or if people think I'm smug. A person's attitude is irrelevant when you consider the scientific facts. Smugness is not a reason to discount veganism any more than angry feminists are a reason to discount feminism. Both parties, if living up to the stereotype (and there is a lot of overlap here) have their reasons anyway.

Humans. Are. Animals. It absolutely kills me when people say animals can't want or feel or whatever. We are animals, and we are undeniably sentient, so why would the rest of the animal kingdom be so different?

Having gone vegan for fifteen days now, I did an allergy 'test' with my parents' cat (I'm normally allergic to them but love them too much to stay away). Previously, after so many minutes spending time with them, my eyes would start to itch just by being in the rooms they'd spent time in (even if they aren't there), or if they'd nuzzle me, I'd have a reaction. My skin would bump up and itch, and soon after, my nose and eyes would run, so I'd and would immediately to take an anti-allergy tablet. I noticed after a week of ditching the dairy (Day 1 of going vegan) my eyes were perfectly fine. Today, I nuzzled my cat's head with my forehead, let her sit on my lap ... Absolutely nothing. The only slight reaction I had was when she jumped off me, she accidentally caught my skin a little with the tip of her claw - There was a tiny bump as my white blood cells rushed to close the pinprick and then again ... nothing. I am SO HAPPY I am in tears of joy.

I’m on board with you totally with this video. But! Mice are just as sentient as cows. They’re pretty smart, too. I’ve had pet mice. They have just as much intelligence and investment in their lives as other sentient beings. I still think it’s better to kill one mouse accidentally (at least he has a shot) vs one cow purposely. But just want to put that out there. Voice for the meece lol.

I tend a thriving garden in my back yard that I get most of my food from and it's full of all manner of animals like insects, small manuals and birds that are all free and wild. They apparently provide all of the fertilizer needed because I've never added any or used pesticides. These animals also benefit from the garden and as far as I know none are killed during harvest by my own hands. This garden exists in the downtown area of one of the most populated regions of the United States. If the entire human population did this, they could sustain 10 time more people on the same amount of land and resources in use currently. I should also mention that tending a garden is associated with better overall health and longevity. If you really want to improve the quality of life for every living thing on this planet, tend your own garden and eat as much as you can from it.

craggle I went vegan because I had some serious health issues and my doctor didn’t want to prescribe medication because he said that my condition wasn’t bad enough, even though I couldn’t function in my every day life. I went whole food plant based and after 3 months - with following dr Michael Gregers daily dozen, I felt like a new person, I went to my doc to make my every 3 month check up, and he asked me what I had done because my blood samples were Great/NORMAL. For the first time since I was 14 - I’m 26 now, I feel like I can thrive and live the best life possible. And I am not a “crazy vegan” for me it’s all about feeling good and being healthy. You do you, if WFPB is nothing for you, that’s ok too! I think a lot of people just don’t have enough knowledge about what a balanced diet is, no matter if you’re a carnivore or a vegan. Peace out ✌🏼

Literally a person chooses to go vegan out of having enough excess to then realize the choice of wether or not to continue to cause unnecessary harm. So, a vegans choices when stranded without resources are irrelevant. It’s not a deep philosophical question. It’s dumb.

@@davidthescottishvegan - you have fallen for lies of of globalists who want you to sacrifice your personal sovereignty - - a big part of that is taking people's ability to feed themselves away - - i.e. tax meat out of existence (justify it with a faux climate crisis for which there is zero evidence, and fluff it up with some false claims made about plant based diets being so healthy). If we allow them to tax meat out of existence, it will be the worst possible thing for the health of the soil (ruminates are ESSENTIAL for soil regeneration), health of humans (ZERO evidence that plant based diets are suitable long term - - its only vegans and supplement companies making these insane claims) and the health of the environment would only benefit from the end of factory farming rather than the end of animal agriculture altogether.
